I thought the most ridiculous part in this movie was that we were tantalized by a giant Maypole, but nobody was maypolling. I felt ripped off.

Yeah, I think that might have been a copyright violation from the NMA (National Maypolling association)...you know, broadcast rights and all

A horribly stupid movie. A decent rifftrax.

My favorite line: "That letter just won't shut up" (or something like that)

macleod

Yeah....well, I think the bear costume at least ends the deadly "sport coat and slacks vs. suit" war...

I definitely see this one being a cult favorite rifftrax. We're still talking about it 2 weeks later.  :P

Exactly my point.  Most of the Rifftrax are great, this one is memorable and will become "beloved."

cant believe I'm saying this. I'm glad I BOUGHT the movie. When I'm down and think I'm a loser, I can watch this and make it all better.......At least I wasn't an actor in the "Wicker Man."
The Ood: The Beast and his armies will rise from the pit to make war against God.
Rose: I'm sorry?
The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

macleod

Yeah, everything is a little cooler by comparison....

Where do their babies come from?  I think Sister Summersile might have said, but I missed it--when she was talking about how they love their men and have sturdy women or whatever--do they get sperm from those tongue-less dudes on the island?  Or do they send someone like Willow out to get knocked up every year?    That would be prudent, because then they'd always have a potential sacrifice victim available whenever the "crop" happens to fail.

As far as it being a beloved episode like Manos, I think it is. The riffing was so good, AND the movie is awesomely, hilariously bad.  I'm not angry at the movie for being so bad--I love the movie for being so bad, because otherwise we wouldn't get so much humor mileage out of it. Remember, we're laughing AT these movies, not with!

They had no tongues, but I think they still had their junk. Those Summersislanders are crazy, but they aren't that crazy.

Nick has got another one coming out called Next. The graphics looked pretty cool, but the shots of him dodging stuff had me laughing to no end. It was like "let's try to do the matrix, but stop halfway through."

OK.  I finally got around to watching the movie with its Rifftrax.  While I thought that the guys were very funny ("that's a whole Mount Rushmore of ugly right there"), the movie is so completely horrible that I don't think I'll be watching this one again any time soon.  The entire plot is based on coincidence and contrivance, where the individual scenes lead absolutely nowhere and EVERY SINGLE female in the movie is evil and trying to kill the "hero" who is a complete moron for not noticing anything slightly suspicious about the entire thing.  Mysoginistic, stupid, and - even that most hateful of movie crimes - boring, it's one of the worst mainstream films I've ever seen.

And another thing...

This is a society run by women, right?

So why was it the Wicker Man and not the Wicker Woman?

I got cheated out of seeing some fine Wicker Tits!  >:(

sarcasm_made_Easy

yeah it seemed to not be a wickerman anyways  did you see how cage entered it?
