Since it didn't make it before, and I don't think this list really can go by without some Chaplin making the final list, so I'll renominate:

Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid"

This is quite possibly the most iconic of the 'tramp' films, which were what Chaplin's film-making genius came to world-wide attention with.*

I do hope anyone who hadn't seen it before saw it when it was on TCM recently (shortly after I originally nominated it it was going to be on and I drew attention to it 'about-to-be-aired' status there).

*  (Does anyone else get as peeved as I do when people use "arguably" something when introducing it?  Well, if it's 'arguably' whatever, then it isn't, really... and if that's the case, no need to mention that it isn't really 'whatever', it just says you realize that making your statement is just hyperbole and wasting our time.  Inarguably is different, but there had best be no-one that disagrees with whatever, otherwise the statement is just wrong.  It is also really annoying when people can't tell the two apart.  [[Yeah, I thought simply the reviewing of the list to find anything not winning earlier in the list would be too much for me today. ]])
