It is surprising back in the MP3 days they never did Twister.  Everyone that has a surround sound system had to get that DVD....

Shame to see him go.  He always good company for whatever TCM film was coming up next.

So Beverly Hills Ninja managed to get a stealth sequel...

I keep seeing ads and news articles about things happening with the Avatar franchise.  Is this really a thing that anyone cares about?  I don't know of anyone that has any excitement for this at all (except for maybe James Cameron).  It's a shame, because he could be working on something new and interesting instead.

I heard someone saying the other day about how forgettable that movie is. Like nobody quotes it or knows the characters names even. It was interesting.

It is strange that a movie that had such a huge impact on its release faded so quickly. There's only a handfull of things I really remember, and I think I mostly remember the clips that were in the Red Letter Media review.

Avatar is the strangest phenomenon. For like- 3 weeks everyone was ALL ABOUT Avatar. The movie single-handedly caused the rise of 3D motion pictures. It was a merchandising bonanza on par with Batman in the '90s or Star Wars. It remains the highest grossing film ever. Then the world, in unison, pretty much decided they were sick of it and forgot all about it.

Haha!  I just did a google search for Avatar Fan Site.  The first 6 results were all about the Last Airbender or some sort of wizard thing.  Result #7 had to do with the movie, and it had a headline that said "Avatar 2 and 3 will be released in 2014 and 2015".

Disney is certainly looking forward to these movies, since they are making a whole section of their theme park Avatar related.
But I agree with you, even people who love that movie, aren't really that vocal about it. You don't see people cosplaying the characters very much. And it seems like most people either dislike it, or are at best "Eh, it was fun, but it was still just a Fern Gully/Dances With Wolves ripoff."

Cool article about an alternative history in which the Oscars have a category for Voice and Motion Capture Performances:

From what I've seen, the new land will probably look nice, but there's so many other Disney movies that could fit in its space, one of which came out last year.

Alice Through the Looking Glass?

The Avatar land seems interesting I guess, but I've never visited Animal Kingdom at all...
