Quirk

It seems to me like an E.T/Super 8 retread.

Aw, man.

Damn, I love Ferrer.  He was great in Robocop, Twin Peaks and Adventure Time.

Also, he had the best line in Hot Shots Part Deux.

SJP

I was going to post that clip, but I'm glad it got posted regardless.  Robocop and Hot Shots Part Deux are unforgettable for his moments alone.  Sad that he is gone, at a fairly young age, from something as awful as throat cancer.
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

QuoteAccording to Variety, the next cast members to be gobbled up by our trio of giant-sized monsters will be Jake Lacy (HBO's "Girls") and Breanne Hill (San Andreas). They join the previously announced Joe Manganiello, Marley Shelton, Naomie Harris, and of course Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Okay, SERIOUSLY, who the fuck cares about the humans in a Rampage movie?!

Hey, you care about pizza being in a Ninja Turtles movie, right?

Not really, no.

The humans in Rampage were just tiny specs. There were no tedious board meetings of scientists, or military strategy meetings, or any annoying little kids, or useless psychic chicks, or reporters. None of that filler crap that all kaiju movies have only because they can't afford to blow up models the entire runtime. Rampage was just fun monster destruction, essentially from the monster's point of view.

Pak-Man

The monsters were humans, though. I don't think a Rampage movie could work without some origin story, dirty word though it's become.

So Matt Reeves is the latest director to pack up and run from DC. It's starting to look like it must be pretty awful to work over there when I think they've had more directors quit than the number of movies they've managed to make so far...
FINE

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Wonder Woman this year. Rumors are that it's a mess. But if it still connects with audiences then DC could have their first mostly positively received movie, giving their DCCU a shot in the arm. It'll be Justice League next year that really tests it.

I am so torn. The DCU has been treated so shitty, that I hate that they are still managing to make so much money while shitting out a product that could only be made by people with absolute contempt for their audience. I hate that people are dumb enough to still give them money at this point.

I would LOVE a great Wonder Woman movie, but I would love a great DC cinematic universe, and the only way for that to happen is for this one to go away.
