A remake of Ed Wood's Plan 9?  Yes, looks more like Dawn of the Dead to me though.

Isn't James Rolfe (the Angry Video Game Nerd) in that?

That's an old trailer that they filmed before even starting production on the movie.

And yes, James Rolfe is in it.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

Makes me hopeful.  Hopefully, this is more Zowie Bowie than Jennifer Lynch (to misquote Lisa Simpson "Poor Mrs. Lynch, she tries so hard.")

The guy who directed the Grey or the A-Team movie won't be doing Daredevil... at least not for Fox, since it looks like the deadline is about to run out and Marvel will get film rights on the character again.  While he hasn't had the best track record, I do like the direction he was going in:

(from the Onion AV Club)
QuoteWith Marvel having rejected Fox's request for a rights extension, and the studios unwilling to work out a comic-book trade even with a couple of Fruit Roll-Ups and a nudie mag thrown in, Variety speculates that Daredevil is now poised to revert back to Disney/Marvel on October 10 as rumored, leaving the status of any possible reboot an open question to which the only certain answer is "No Ben Affleck." While no official statement has been made yet, the belief that Marvel will simply reabsorb the title is a logical progression stemming from a series of tweets made by director Joe Carnahan, who yesterday told fans that he believed his "idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids," adding that, though he felt the "pitch was tremendous and everyone flipped for it," ultimately "the clock ticked down at Fox" on getting the script together before the deadline, and "that's why it went tits up."

He did put together a cool sizzle reel using footage from other movies to try to sell his idea, and I got to say, it got me excited for a retro-Daredevil movie.  Or a retro-Luke Cage movie.  What do you guys think:

And a slightly (very slightly) different version:

BTW, if Marvel wants to use a new villain or villains this time around for a gritty retro-Daredevil, here's a short list:

The Rose (who is secretly the Kingpin's son)
The Owl
The Enforcers (let's face it, I love 'em but this is the only super-hero they stand a chance against)
The Gladiator (you can play up the delusion aspect and make him a Travis Bickle/Rupert Pupkin villain)
The Big Man (a bit more generic and obscure, but it could tie him in with the Bugle and introduce the Enforcers)

This looks pretty entertaining. Good cast and some characters that look like they lend themselves to eccentric performances.

Joss Whedon Urges Boycott of Mike Birbiglia's 'Sleepwalk With Me'

QuoteIn a new video released to YouTube, the long-time cult TV creator-turned-tentpole director urges his rabid fan base to boycott comedian Mike Birbiglia's upcoming film, Sleepwalk With Me. Here's the deal: Whedon's Avengers debuted on over 4,000 screens, and is now the third highest-earning film of all time, but is now down to under 500 screens (over three months since its release, of course). Meanwhile, Sleepwalk has had its original order of 30 opening screens more than doubled, with even more on tap if the film does well.

It's Whedon's goal to be Joss the Comedian Slayer.

It's all fun and games, of course; Whedon is always supporting indie projects -- he has his own homemade, black and white Much Ado About Nothing coming out, in fact.

And, besides, he has little to worry about; the chances are slim that Sleepwalk will match Avengers' $1.46 billion worldwide.

I'm going for the deluxe package: the first three films for $35.   ;)

Disney Sets Release Date for 'Avengers 2'

QuoteDisney has set May 1, 2015, as the release date for Marvel Studios' sequel to The Avengers.

The studio is in production on Iron Man 3 -- Disney said Thursday that star Robert Downey Jr. hurt his ankle on-set, causing a slight production delay -- and will release the threequel May 3.

After that, Marvel plans to release sequels Thor: The Dark World on Nov. 8, 2013, and Captain America: The Winder Soldier on April 4, 2014. Next will be a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which still is seeking a director. The release date for Guardians is Aug. 1, 2014.

Upon seeing the cast list for the Robocop remake (2013), I got excited. I mean, Hugh Laurie (:heart throb:), Gary Oldman, Samuel L Jackson....it should be awesome right?

Then I found out some plot details and I'm a sad panda now.

Edit: Oh! I'm also holding my breathing in hope that "The Wolverine" won't suck like "Origins" did. I don't know who's set to direct it now (it's been thru quite  a few hands) but I hope them concentrating on his time in the Far East will make for a really damned good movie. I, personally, love Hugh Jack as Wolverine (and...LOVE Hugh Jackman so I may be biased heh). I think he IS Logan you know? I couldn't picture anyone else being him. It just sucks that he's a good actor but was given poop to work with (Xmen 3 and Origins, I'm looking your way). So..lets hope huh?
