Oh, and it turns out the WUB WUB WUB thing is, in fact, federally mandated now.
Eh, it's better than the "Let the bodies hit the floor!" that was in every trailer a few years ago.

It did seem out-of-place in the Toy Story 3 trailer.

I dunno, that seemed appropriate since they also had to count the bodies.

It seemed an odd choice to get Robert Rodriguez to do a gritty update on Barney.

I'm sure they'll have her back in some capacity, hopefully as a lead. I think she's an integral part of the group.

In Paul Thomas Anderson news...

QuotePaul Thomas Anderson has kept a tight lid on his latest project, The Master, but audiences got their first glimpse at the drama Monday when the director released a teaser trailer. The clip runs just short of two minutes and features the film's co-star, Joaquin Phoenix, making his first return to the screen since I'm Still Here.

The Master is the story of a "charismatic intellectual" (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman) who begins a faith-based organization and enlists Phoenix's character, a young drifter, to be his right-hand man. The Master is scheduled for release October 12, 2012.

I've watched this trailer at least a dozen times now.  I find it absolutely riveting.  And fascinating.  (yes, yes, I know, absolutely fascinating, shhhhhhhhhhhh....ut up)

I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Agreed.  If you don't know what the Master is about, it's intriguing.  If you do, it's equally intriguing since it doesn't touch on the more famous aspects of the movie.  It's really a question of "what did this man do, and what is wrong with him."  I haven't seen all of PT Anderson's movies, but I'm expecting it to be at least as good as "There Will Be Blood."

Paramount made an odd move:

QuoteIn a surprising move, Paramount Pictures has delayed the release of their upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation until March 29, 2013, a full nine months after its originally planned release date of June 29th.

Part of the postponement allows for the film to undergo a full 3D conversion.

"It is increasingly evident that 3D resonates with movie-goers globally and together with Paramount, we made the decision to bring fans an even more immersive entertainment experience," said Brian Goldner, Hasbro's President and CEO in an official statement.

Actually, it's not that odd.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I really don't care much for musicals, although a bunch of people have seen the stage version and told me it's great. I don't know.
