So I was driving around San Jose the other day and, quite by accident, found this on Tully Road in Little Saigon. Look familiar?

Having made my Birdemic Pilgrimage to Half Moon Bay a couple of years ago, and now found this, I think I'm inspired to see what other Birdemic locations I can find.

Long, long ago, I recall a "friend" (for a very short time, if you catch my drift) driving me along the road where the trees were, that runs between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica.  It was definitely the same road as in the movie but I've no way to prove it since there were no easily-spotted landmarks...and since that was before the age of cellphones and other such slabs, I have no photo of it.

I remember it well, because it was very pretty--but I was also rather nervous, because I didn't know the guy with me very well, and we were in such an isolated locale. (Everything turned out OK, though...I didn't end up as a casualty...the worst thing about the fellow driving me there was that he didn't "click" with me on my part in a dating context...what with that creepy leer and insisting on driving so far away from civilisation on a first date. Thankfully I know better now about how to deal with situations like this.)

I filed that road in my memory, as I found myself thinking that I sure would like to go there again under less stressful circumstances!

Having grown up 4 hours N of the bay area, 4 hours E of Eureka, 4 hours S of Oregon, and 4 hours W of Nevada, I was sadly familiar with most of the locations in that damn movie.  It really made the film even MORE funny, considering I know how far apart all the shooting locations really are from each other.  One minute they're North of Fort Bragg and suddenly they're in San Francisco.

I also recognized from the opening montage my friend Dave's street in Eureka.

I love/hate this movie.

I've lived in San Francisco since 1988 and don't remember any scene from here except the asinine news report about a celebrity "green grand prix" on our streets, an idea which would be completely undoable unless most of the City evacuated - even Bay to Breakers, a foot race, interrupts public transportation and traffic so badly that whole morning everything just sort of slows down and lets it get itself over with.  Though the idea of a hybrid race car trying to speed down Lombard Street did give me a giggle.

What scene was from San Francisco? It's a big city - even I can't have seen all of it.

Some of their date was within eye-shot of SF.  I think the Golden Gate bridge was in one of the shots... Just before the first sight of animated GIF birds (not the attacking ones).  If you watch the movie with the riff, Mike makes a reference to The Room just about that time.

And I only noticed a couple shots that I knew for a fact were Eureka..... I am sure MOST of the movie was in the San Mateo area, but there were enough random shots elsewhere that could be called "all over the map"

More importantly, did you find the spot where Becky took a shit?

I'm pretty sure that the beach scenes were filmed in the Golden Gate National Park, probably at the Tennessee Cove area of the park.
