The shorts section, how to clean it up?

What's to be done about the shorts discussion forum?

The last few shorts did not get child boards, and as the shorts add up into the hundreds it's probably unrealistic to add a child board for each one.

Right now the child boards swamp the regular threads, you have to scroll a long way to get to them.

What can be done about it? 

Does the forum software allow nested child boards?  Put the current child boards into one super-child board so you don't have to scroll past 160+ boards to get to the regular threads?  Or is it possible to move the child boards to the bottom?

I have no suggestions. I just wanted to say kudos to you for being brave enough to open up about your dirty shorts section.

Yeah by year and release date somehow..

If nested child boards are possible having one for each year would clean things up a lot.  It's still nice to have child boards for each short, some of them deserve a bunch of threads kept together.  But in a lot of them all the comments are in the announcement thread.

Or maybe do it alphabetically, have a bunch of main boards (Shorts A to F, Shorts G to M, etc)  and put the child boards in those.

You can: click "My Account", then click the "My Files" tab. You can sort them there.

I like the grouping by alphabetical order idea over the yearly idea.

I thought there was a "my orders" section, but I may be confusing that with another site.  My "my files" page is also pretty darn long, at least they highlight in yellow the recent purchases so they are easy to find when scrolling like crazy.

I do like the idea of either alphabetical or year. A lot of the time a new child board is what alerts me to there being a new short. If I don't see the child board, then I might not know there is a new one..

That works for me. It's funny how it doesn't work if you click the "My Files" link directly.

I wish the link that they gave you after purchasing something took you directly to this page with the files sorted with most recent at the top.

I like the idea of just having one board for each year's worth of shorts.  That way we could still talk about them while only having a few boards up on the main page.
