Years ago (right after MST3K quit airing), I tried to embark on a quest to find lots of "funny bad", MST3K-quality movies and post info on them on a website. After watching many god-awful ones, I gave up. I admire what the screeners here and at MST3K went through, because it's not pretty. For every "good" one, there are dozens of painful ones.

Anyway, this is that "one" that I found. It's entertaining, goofy, and bad: everything you'd want. Here's my old write-up:

Horrible "effects", bad acting, okay plot, okay monster. Entertaining (and goofy) enough to keep interest (except for certain times towards the end).

Here's the "huge" sealab "complex". Looks to be about one foot long. Ditto for alien space ship.

Inside the alien space ship, hot dogs are thawed, grow large (or "plump"), and hatch monsters.

Commander Wayne has some trouble getting his belt on over his huge gut. He struggles for about a minute of film, then finally sucks it in. He and the other guy are involved in a stupid sub-plot about being involved in the deaths of sailors on a submarine. Other guy eventually confesses to being a coward and killing the sailors, which, for some reason, makes his love interest very amorous.

You know a movie is desperate for padding when it uses the same scene twice in succession. They also used scenes in which the camera had a piece of seaweed stuck to the lens.

Here's the monster on the prowl for another victim. He appears to kill people by slapping them.

The music was EXTREMELY overdramatic. This was most apparent during the many, many clothes-changing sequences.

Looks awesome! I have to watch it.

Also, the monster and the spaceship remind me of an old pc game X-Com: Terror from the Deep.

"- AAh! It's the Nemean Lion!!!
- The ... son of the Nemean Lion!"

well most hod dogs, immediately after being thawed, do hatch monsters. in the form of intestinal parasites anyway.

The write up had me at "stunning display of crappy miniatures." That always makes for great riffing. As well as goofy monsters.
