I guess it's rude to just join and start throwing your two cents in without saying hello first. My name is Steve. classic MST3K fan turned on to Rifftrax after realizing I knew all the MST episodes by heart (at least the Mike ones). Yeah, I'm a Nelson-head. I'm lovin' Rifftrax, mainly the ones with Mike, Kevin and Paul. I'd love to see Trace back in the mix-- don't know if that's possible. I know he's over at Cinematic Titanic, but it doesn't seem like they are all that busy, so... I imagine there's a thread about this somewhere on here. Also, where do we go to request movies for Mike and the riffers to do?

Oh, and it's Mike, Kevin and Bill, not Paul. Actually, Paul Chaplin is the only one of the primary Best Brains that is mia in riffing nowadays. Not sure why, he was always great.

He was part of the (brief) MST3k flash video era, providing Crow's voice, IIRC.

oops! got nervous I guess. Meant Bill. In fact, I just watched the Bill and Kevin riffed Alien, which, to me would normally be blasphemy, but it turned out to be very funny. I still can't bring myself to watch Raiders of the Lost Ark since that is my favorite childhood movie and I don't want to laugh everytime I watch it afterwards once it has been riff-contaminated. Has that happened to anyone here? A movie they really like gets riffed and suddenly they find it hard to take it seriously anymore? Anyone avoid watching certain ones for just that reason?

I really dig that they do movies I love, such as The Dark Knight and Inception...and seals.

It gives me a whole new experience of watching a great movie. I don't really think of specific riffs when I'm watching something un-riffed, so I guess that helps.

The Star Wars Holiday Special.

No, wait. I think I misread the question.  In all (well, mostly) seriousness, I do find Jurassic Park and Star Wars to be ever slightly sillier than I gave them credit for after watching them riffed.  I held off on Fellowship of the Ring because, c'mon man, some things are just sacrosanct.  But after taking a chance, it was as if LOTR is ice cream, then the riffing is Magic Shell fudge topping, and Mike, Kevin, and Bill are the cherries, and Orlando Bloom is rainbow sprinkles.
