And that's why I snapped and got out of that george lucas hate thread.  Same fucking thing, over and over and over and over.

I'm getting this way with the Twilight hate. It's just not funny anymore (and I despise Twilight).

Hmm. Are they supposed to actually look like they're all together in the scene? Because it sorta doesn't. And Black Widow's face looks kinda funky for some reason.

This has to be a fan-done job. No way is that professional quality. For one thing, Captain America is about 14 feet tall, because they didn't take into account perspective.  The lighting is all over the place too.

Believe it or not, it's from Marvel Studios and it's official. Officially awful. I was trying to be diplomatic before, but no, this is pure amateur hour. Seriously, they look like bad cutouts from seven different illustrations.

Yeah, not the coolest movie poster, but here's a quandery:

Has there ever been a good poster of a group shot of 4 or more people? Obviously Marvel wants to showcase the whole group to let people who are confused and think it's based on the old TV show know that it's about all these cool superheroes teaming up. But I can't think of a historical precident where a poster showcasing a large cast has ever looked anything but cheesy...

Relaxing Dragon

A valid point. I guess it depends on how photographed they're supposed to appear, since group shots work well if they're done in a more stylized manner.

For instance, this one's a personal fave:

That is a good point. Seven characters all in action seems like a recipe for a busy mess. I think it works better when you have that many characters to make them somewhat stationary.

For example, it's nothing earth-shattering, but I always liked this poster and I think it handles a lot of characters well. Everyone has plenty of space and your eye isn't drawn all over the place.

Yep.  When you know what someone's going to say before they say it, all communication with them becomes pointless, even if they try to cloak it in "free speech" or "it's just a different viewpoint."  Regardless, I've fucking HEARD it. Don't need to hear it again.

This is why the Transformers 3 riff is the most disappointing Rifftrax I have ever heard as it was all bitching. This is also why I haven't gone into the Transformers 4 thread. I doubt anyone has posted anything new.

What about this, which apparently is an amateur one?

I think that's much better for the most part, but Hawkeye and Black Widow bug me a little. There's something about their size and pedestrian appearance compared to the extravagance of the others that throws off the overall composition. Not sure what could be done about that, though. Also, I'd like to see it with that "molten" background thing taking up the entire background. It would prevent the black costumes at the top from fading into the background. But, other than Hawkeye and Widow (especially Widow), this looks pretty awesome to me.

To be fair, a guy with a bow and arrow and a girl with a gun are pretty pedestrian and lame compared to a god, a monster, a superhuman, and a dude with a robotic flying suit. :)

Maybe they could fit The Hulk with like an over-sized Baby Bjorn or something.

Eh, maybe it;s because I really like the character but I think Hawkeye looks badass.

Overall I really like the trailer. I think the look of the Hulk is good, but I prefered the 2008 Incredible Hulk version much better. However, I think the Hulk's face for some reason looked silly roaring in that shot near then end when the camera circles around the group. Also, it looks like Iron Man is being chased by one of the dragons from Dragon Wars

Yeah, what the fuck is that thing? Is that based on something from the comics?

And having a reason to have to fight with them as a team. It's one of the many things they have to establish in this movie, even before they get to the ALIEN INVASION. I still get a vibe that they have bitten off more than they can chew here. We have villains already established. Loki masterminding with the Leader and controlling The Abomination probably would have been enough anyway.
