Basing the potential of a 3D Empire Strikes Back on the success of 3D Phantom Menace? Now I'm more receptive to the prequels then most, but I know bad research tactics when I see them. I actually feel more like fans are being held at ransom. "Want your 3D Death Star Trench Run? Better see Phantom Menace, then!"

Doctor Who?

Lucas you little cry baby there is no way I am going to see jar Jar Binks again, let alone in 3D.

This is the same tactic he used to try and force use to buy the SEs on DvD,and guess what I have not given up yet so don't hold your breath Lucas.

Hey if you really want to make some money off of the old movies just clean them up and put them on Blu Ray with out any CGI junk,I would be willing to pay $100 for a boxset of the cleaned up untouched movies.

Eh, I'd probably see 4, 5 and 6 but I'm sure there's a market for re-released prequels.

Guys, I just thought of a brilliant idea that will prevent you from wasting time and money on a movie that you don't think you'll like.

STAY HOME.

Why would this have to be "stopped"?

Like I always say, nobody hates Star Wars more than a Star Wars fan.

In all honesty, if Lucas has a bug to do a 3D movie, I'd much rather see a second Clone Wars movie in 3D. I'm not a huge fan of 3D, but I will say that animation has always looked better in 3D than live action has (and especially when it's 3D added in post), so at least a 3D Clone Wars movie would have a chance of looking okay. Besides, even if it doesn't, at least it's something new and not just presenting old material again. Remember, the last time we had a Star Wars theatrical rerelease was 1997, which was still the VHS age. It wasn't the age of Blu-ray and relatively cheap 50-inch 1080p flatscreens. The chance to see these movies again on a big screen just might not be as big a deal now. I don't know that I'd go to the old movies just to see them with a gimmick that I don't particularly like added, but I like Clone Wars and I'd still go see a new movie based on it just for the story.

Yeah, thats been my plan from the start. Even if they do get to the original trilogy I already paid to see versions of them with added cgi bullshit in the 90s, I don't need to watch them get screwed with again. If it doesn't happen, oh well, if it does happen, Lucas doesn't get any cash from me, and we all move on with our lives.

I've been saying this very thing for years, it does no good.  I simply can't comprehend the sense of entitlement someone must have to think all entertainment should be aimed at them.

It probably doesn't help that 90% of advertising campaigns (for all products, not just movies) feed into the consumer's sense of entitlement, implying that the consumer deserves the features contained in this product, and ONLY THIS PRODUCT.

sarcasm_made_Easy

it just occured to me how much more obnoxious you could make jar jar in 3d.  Especially if he adds in some special 3d scenes especially for that.
