Cool, guys!  Lovin these announcements, too!

Edit: Is the recent string of older films because they're less likely to be pirated? I know the day-and-date releases were causing problems.
My guess?  They're just doing what they want to do instead of doing what maybe they feel pressured to do.  And I'd wager that the riff they want to do will be better because of it.  But who knows?  Maybe they'll do "Tron: Legacy" later... or never.  ::shrugs::  I'm happy with all of it!   ;D

Darth Geek

If that's the case, then hopefully Billy Jack will be riffed soon.

RVR II

So I've been busy with brick and stone projects around my house yelling KAAAHHHNNN because of my severe back pains and now I know why! :o

Eh, I like the original Missile riff (partially due to my love and respect for Fred Willard), and I like the Tron riff (partially due to my undying fandom and love for JoCo, Paul, and Storm), but I don't think anything should necessarily be off-limits for redos. I don't have any riffs I'm eager to see them redo, but if they really think they can do a better job this time around, I don't see why they shouldn't get the chance.

After all, there were some parts of the live Reefer Madness I liked more than the non-live Three Riffer version, and some parts I liked better in the non-live.

Also, I'm very tired and barely coherent. :P

I have to say, this comes as a surprise. I thought for sure the next one would be something recent, like Tron Legacy. I can't complain though. This is my favorite ST movie.

I said it before somewhere else, but if Tron Legacy is riffed I'd like it to be another Presents by JoCo and P&S, mostly as an excuse to get them to make another riff.

Parturition Squeeze

It'll be interesting to finally see what the "KHAAAAN!" thing is all about (no it won't).
I love the riffs of the older Star Treks though, so I'm looking forward to this one!
Towel, please.

ShadowDog

WOO HOO!!!  YES!!!

I've been wondering for years why they hadn't done this one because it's such a riffable movie.

Man, I hope this 80's kick means they're doing Aliens in the future...

ShadowDog

I'm a little disappointed we've gone six hours without the obligatory "Game Over Man" response to that comment.

Excellent! The question is, what version will it work with? There is the original DVD version and then there is the director's cut version which is a few minutes longer that was released a couple years later. I have the director's cut edition.

Yes, I'd also like to know what version of Wrath of Khan I need to get to check out this riff. Any word on what DVDs are compatible with it yet?

I am almost certain, from both my iRiffs experience and general Rifftrax policy, that it will be the Director's Cut.  Whatever version is most widely available is the one Rifftrax always uses, and that's the DC these days.  Rifftrax does try to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy their products, after all.

They tend do the version that's currently in print & can be easily bought. In this case, the 2009 reissue is the 112-minute theatrical version. All the 2009 "Original Motion Picture Collection" DVDs have been released in their original theatrical versions (with new bonus features).

Nope. The 116 minute Extended Director's Edition from 2003 is currently out of print. Those of us who don't own it would have to find it used from a seller on Amazon or Ebay. The Theatrical Cut DVD reissue from 2009 (pictured above in the "spoilers") is currently the most widely available.

Crowmeus

So, those of us who do own the Director's cut and no other edition will have to rent the theatrical edition to enjoy this.

This is also the version available via Netflix, which is apparently a major deciding factor for them.
