That's great. I'm loving the 80s kick you guys seem to be on. How about Gymkata?

Edit: Is the recent string of older films because they're less likely to be pirated? I know the day-and-date releases were causing problems.

Excellent! The question is, what version will it work with? There is the original DVD version and then there is the director's cut version which is a few minutes longer that was released a couple years later. I have the director's cut edition.

I'm wondering how quickly one of them says "Spock," in that whispered-hushed tone that emulates Shatner so well.

Right out of the gate, just like STV

I have to say, this comes as a surprise. I thought for sure the next one would be something recent, like Tron Legacy. I can't complain though. This is my favorite ST movie.

It had better be the DC version, because that's what I have already.

I think with the new re-release, it'd be neat to see Tron one week, then Tron: Legacy the next.

Or both at the same time :)

It'll be weird living in a world where the best Star Trek movie has two riffs. Not bad, just weird. Hopefully I'll have Internet hooked up at the new apartment in time.

And I'd bet a million dollars that the promo would be Kevin in the Tron bodystocking freaking everybody out.

A peanut in chicken sauce steamer? Hmm. Around here they do that the other way around.

And a Tokyo Joe's bowl of that sounds really good right now. Curse you lack of funds!

(And Basehart? They did do Tron already.)

Ehn, Rifftrax Presents doesn't count.  They redid Missile to the Moon with the 3 guys, so it's possible.

Well, the thing about that RP is that it was so obvious it was mostly written by the usual people, that it might as well have been an official Rifftrax. It was just performed by JP&S instead of MK&B. The main thing I look for in Rifftrax Presents is something that doesn't sound like what I would expect from Mike, Kevin and Bill (or at least from Mike), and I didn't get that from Tron. Which isn't to say I disliked Tron, because I actually didn't. I just wish the performers had contributed more. And I definitely could have done without obvious stock MKB jokes like Bud American Ale and... well I know there were others, I just can't remember them at the moment.

And as for Missile to the Moon, I actually had the opposite problem with that. In the 3 riffer version, too many of Kevin and Bill's lines just didn't sound like anything they would normally say. It was too obvious they were saying someone else's lines.

Rifftrax Presents should be off limits for re-do's.  Most likely they redid Missile to the Moon because it's public domain and they could do a dvd release with it.
