That costume is hilarious.   Is this a comedy or did Superman just gets pantsed?

Darth Geek

The suit looks allright, I'm more impressed with the cape. And while the ribbing around the waist and back is a little odd, if the movie is good I don't think I'll notice.

I dunno about this suit.  Despite the fact that it looks like it was made out of rubber, it looks more like pajamas than Christopher Reeve or George Reeves' suits did.

Also it looks a bit too much like Batman's outfit.

Darth Geek

I am assuming the suit is ribbed for Lois' pleasure.

Maybe it is for a product tie in with kiddie PJ makers?

Yeah, that suit doesn't look so hot.  Still, sometimes these things look a lot more impressive on the big screen than in life.  You ever been to Hobbiton?  If you are ever in New Zealand, give it a look.

Plus it doesn't look that much worse than the new Superman costume.

Not a fan.

My thing with the body armor Superman suits is 1)he doesn't need armor and 2 it makes him look like an angry military man and that is not Superman him you ask me.  Superman is supposed to be a friendly source of hope. I mean yeah you don't want to cross him,but your first reaction upon seeing him should not be fear and that is what those suits do for me.  They make him look scary.

As I said, not a fan.  It's even more distressing that this rather cheesy costume was built by comics great George Perez, who helped redefine the Avengers and has mastered the art of being able to draw insane amounts of characters on a page.

But yeah, Supes doesn't need armour and the unnecesary seams/lines are distracting.  Keep it simple stupid.

On the other hand, here's the new costume for year one Supes.

I was not a fan at first, and I certainly wouldn't want him wearing past year one, but for the upcoming story, it makes sense.  He's a young man having recently come to the city and his suit is more down to earth.  He's also (at first) fighting more down to earth corruption and crime, much in the way he did with his first appearance in the 30's (most notably social injustices, although I don't think he'll be fighting "lobbyists" this time around.)

If that is his first costume and not the one he is going to keep i think it looks pretty good.  Much better then the movie or new comics version.

Who let JJ Abrams make a Superman comic?
as long as he doesn't say "I'M THE GODDAMN SUPERMAN!"

Got some grease in the hair!

The cape seems to help a little but the body still looks a bit like a skinless cadaver.

Well that looks better, still not in love with the suit.  Isn't Superman's cape suppose to be his blanket from when he was a baby?
