Help make it worth your embarrassment and get the Quiptracks, too.

You should have bought the DVD of the animated series too.

Helps reduce the embarrassment.

(shrug) The clerk when I bought it liked it and started praising it while ringing it up.

Still, one of these days I hope the guys riff 27 Dresses just to hear people really start whining about how embarrassing it was to buy it.

Which is where having a fiancé who already owns it pays off.

When did QuipTracks do Airbender?  It's not on their site, and - thanks to the less-than-useless 'Sort By Genre' for iRiffs (instead of 'sort by title' or even 'sort by release date' [because seriously, NO-ONE seems to file the same films under the same genres]), I can't begin to look for it there.

Chances are the sort by genre would be more useful if more riffers, you know, used it. Could be wrong, but I get the feeling a lot of people don't categorize their riffs, or don't know that they can use more than one category, which can help with the hard to place movies.

True (i.e. 'if riffers used it with multiple categories... but of course, a fair number of films could be so multiply-categorized that the sort by genre would be useless anyway [e.g. Ghostbusters: humor, horror, sci-fi, fantasy]).  Regardless, generally 100% of people know the title of films they are specifically looking for, while - maybe - 15% might accurately guess what genre someone else may put the same film into if the riffer only chose one genre.  That's since the genre is, as you said, set by the riffer, not by - say - what genre it appears as in IMDB.  When even an old videostore that sorted tapes by genre I often disagreed with the genre where they put films, the chances that an iRiffer and I thinking a film belonged in the same place would be pretty slim.  Having not yet seen 'Airbender' at the time I was looking, I would've guessed 'fantasy' followed by 'sci-fi', then 'god-knows-what', but being Sham-name-alon, it could've been 'suspense' [HAH! can't believe I said that with a straight face!], or even a bizarre 'horror hybrid'.

I think a 'sort by genre' MIGHT be useful to some people.  For instance those who, say, won't watch a certain genre, so they can eliminate things they don't want to see.  But since I'll watch almost anything if it is funny enough [hell, I hate westerns, and I bought the Lone Ranger iRiff, which is quite amusing], 'genre' would be my third choice for "ways to sort things".  That would be following behind 'alphabetical' [looking for specific titles, especially since the search doesn't work for iRiffs], and 'date added' [since I can at least start at 'most recent' and just keep looking backwards til I get to something I remember seeing the last time I looked].

But this PART of the discussion I brought up is [thanks to my response now] way out of proportion here, and actually belongs elsewhere [like, maybe in an e-mail from me to those who can do something about it  ;) , or as a post in the "iRiffs site temporarily disabled" thread].  I only brought it up secondarily here to not being able to find a QuipTracks 'Airbender' riffing.

Well the answer there i think is that they've announced it but haven't released it yet. They also don't always release on iRiffs since they have their own site with a cart system.

The Quiptracks version is being released this Saturday. I don't know if it will be available in the iRiffs section or not. It might end up as a Quiptracks.com exclusive release.

Yes, the QuipTrack is coming out Saturday since we don't have the connections that Rifftrax apparently has.

I had to cover up my embarrassment at the rental store by sticking The Last Airbender in between a couple of porn DVDs.

RVR II

One of those wouldn't happen to be titled..
"Getting your Pant-Antler Chooched by a Hitch-Hiking Lot Lizard" would it?? :rimshot: :D :D

  Excellent!

The reason I was so confused is because for the last couple releases at least, you've had a 'coming soon' notice on the website in the form of a description in the list of riffings on the http://quiptracks.com/zencart/index.php page (the page I check every few weeks, hoping for new stuff), with that little description linking to a full-release page with a future-dated "released on ____" at the bottom.  For me at any rate - the website just has the Dragonball Evolution QuipTrack at the top of that list.

Glad to hear that you guys have tackled Airbender too!   :)  [Maybe this time it'll stay down!  If it knows what's good for it.]
