Well, I voted in favor of Blu-ray (options always nice) however, would movies like Maniac and Boy in the Plastic Bubble really benefit from Blu-ray?

Or any of the shorts?

I assume this poll is probably for the usual group of Legend titles. Plan 9, Night of the Living Dead, HOHH, etc. The ones that they could make decent high-def masters of.
Plus the live shows which are broadcast in HD (right?)

The BD question is, really, just about the live shows - since they were filmed in HD and the media has all been upres'd to HD for the show.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

Thrash? I'd prefer the DVD version, since the upscaled graphics don't matter too much to me. However, if you go the WB/Disney route and make it a Blu-Ray/ DVD combo pack, I will definitely pick it up, even if it's a couple of bucks more than the solo Blu-Ray. Frankly, the only Blu-rays I'm picking up these days are the combo packs.

HD?  So we can see a crappy pd print in all of its low res quality?  So we can see all the hairs on Kevin's beard?  C'mon - enough with the upgrades for no reason... SD is fine!

Gotcha.

Then my vote for Blu-ray was the right way to go!

I'd like DVD for now, honestly.

You guys.

There will always be a DVD.

The question is: do you own a bluray player? If so, would you like the live show in hi-def?

The question is not "Bluray or DVD: pick one."

So, we have to choose?

So far I have one BD player (aka my PS3) and we're already running into the issue of replacing DVDs with Blu Rays and then wanting to watch in the bedroom instead of the living room. Just a matter of time before HD invades both rooms.

Given the choice right now I'll shell out for Blu Ray for anything new, but it'll be awhile before I replace the Plan 9 or Christmas Short discs.

Even though I personally don't have a bluray player yet, I still think you guys would benefit from releasing the live shows in this format. A couple of my younger friends have bluray players and they've gotten to a point where they are only interested in buying bluray discs. I think that is a little silly, but I assume this practice is not going to go away anytime soon. Plus, you could make the boast that you were the first to release something MST related in that format. I doubt that Cinematic Titanic, Shout Factory, and Universal are going to be releasing bluray discs with riffs anytime soon.

So why not just use that as the poll question then.  And why have choices like "I'm sticking with DVDs until they pry them from my cold, dead hands!", especially if you're going to be making business decisions based on the answers...might want to go for crystal clarity instead of funny.  Plus not too long ago the admins were posting that they weren't even sure Reefer would be released on DVD - now we're being asked if we want the option of a dvd AND a blue-ray...?
