Teaser of new short from Tommy Wiseau

[emory]

I saw the short this past Saturday. A misconception going around, thanks to imdb, is that Tommy Wiseau wrote and/or directed this, but in fact he did neither. Tommy was merely the lead character. The creators of the short wrote the script before meeting Tommy, and upon meeting him they realized they practically wrote the role for him and cast him right away.

If you wrote a movie where Tommy Wiseau is perfect casting, you have failed in life.

Even if you're a sketch comedy group trying to make a ridiculous horror parody?

Even if you're a sketch comedy group trying to make a ridiculous horror parody?

The guys who made Airplane!, etc (and who should know) that not everyone gets how to play parody.

I will bet you that - like Mrs. Miller all those years ago - they told Wiseau that this was a serious short and just figured his lack of talent would do the rest.

After its premiere on Comedy Central, it is now live on Atom!

Some pretty funny stuff, although (surprise, surprise) some of Wiseau's lines would have been better had they been given to someone with, you know, comic timing. But he certainly fits in with the surreal nature of the spoof, and I love the three nonsensical horror movie plot twists in a row.

Wow  . I sure am glad he went all out with his jokes. The Ketchup joke reached a level of stupidity I didn't expect.

I loved the joke about "when I was a little girl". It's even funnier when you assume that the writers and director just fed Tommy his lines phonetically.
