Release Date: October 7, 2011

QuoteAnton Yelchin plays Charlie, a teen convinced that his new neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire. Toni Collette will play the teen's disbelieving mom, who falls under the vampire's spell.

David Tennant will play Peter Vincent, a character who in the original movie was played by Roddy McDowall as the host of a late-night horror show. In the remake, he's a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he's less than helpful.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse is playing Evil Ed, Yelchin's friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire's coven.

I wonder if they will make it straight horror or try and add some campiness?

I really like the origional and I love the cast in this so I'll definately be there for that one.

Recently re-watched the origional and didn't like it anywhere near as much, especially the ending.

I'm just wondering if Whovians will be questioning why the 10th Doctor is playing Roddy McDowell's character. It could make for some good Riffing fodder to say the least.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Seems his character is going to be a lot different.  David Tennant's character will essentially be a low rent Cris Angel, which I imagine will be very interesting to watch.

Looks like it could be fun if the movie has more humour than the trailer implies (perhaps they don't want to people to assume it's a comedy.  Marketing people are dumb that way).

Not sure if this really needed a "gritty remake".    I hope it has some humor in it.

Yeah where is the Roddy McDowell character in that trailer. And McLovin as Evil Ed I can see.
