This is now on the TGWTG site...

Which I think backs up the theory even more that it's Tommy "Can't take a joke even though this is supposedly a black comedy" Wiseau ordering people to take down footage from his movie no matter what the context.  And the people over there are not saying anything because they're still huddling with their lawyer about "fair use".  They don't want to say they're gone for good unless they really are.

The Room is still one of my fave Rifftrax.  But I'm really getting fed up with Wiseau himself - this act of his, his ego and/or his genuine massive state of denial about the film and it's following.

I thought they hosted on Blip.tv instead of Youtube because Blip was less reactionary to copyright violations.

My stingers for The Room were removed for a terms of use violation a day or two after I put them up.  I reuploaded them, and they've been there for a year.

The link on the Nostalgia Critic page seems to be gone, but the embed that Doggans posted here is still active.  Odd.

So Wiseau doesn't know anything about writing, directing, acting, editing, and apparently Fair Use law? What a tool!

Wiseau's complaining about the use of clips is probably the same as a "nuisance lawsuit" - he knows it's bogus but he figures no one has the time, money or will to go through fighting it.  And we already know that YouTube folds like a lawn chair whenever someone looks at them cross-eyed.

The TGWTG site not commenting might be because they're going to surprise Wiseau and actually fight him over this - and they don't want something said on the site used by him in court....

I wish they would fight him on this. The guy seriously needs to be stomped into the dirt.

Wow.  I feel privileged to have watched the review before it was taken down.  I actually download and then watch them and delete them later cuz blip.tv sucks.  If only I had it on my harddrive a few more days, I prob woulda uploaded it to MegaUpload or some place like that.  Oh well.

What do you use to download them?  I have a program that I use to download YouTube videos, but I can't get it to work on any other site.

I find it especially bizarre that Nostalgia Critic and Nostalgia Chick are often showcasing movies by Disney, which is a giant corporation and notoriously litigious, yet this independent film is the one that gets them in trouble.

Turns out Tommy is a copyright nazi.  Sad.

Or at least his lawyer "John" is. And yes, Doug, that sketch is EXACTLY what it will take to get on Wiseau-Films' good graces.  :D

What a fucking baby. Frankly, I think the critic went way to easy on him.

Guys like Doug Walker are the only reason anyone even knows about this piece of shit movie. And a big part of the affection toward it is that Wiseau seemed to have a sense of humor over this.

And... other ramblings that won't do an electron of good to help the situation, I'm just in a bad mood. I've just seen this happen too many times already. I guess it's to be expected. I'm sure when the printing press was invented, a lot of kings and wealthy nobleman tried their hardest to suppress literacy among the peasants.

Hell, all new communications technology was fought in this way. The internet is the biggest one yet, and potentially most harmful to certain people's empire's (I needed a better word than "livelyhood", because none of these guys are gonna wind up in the poor house over youtube videos and file-sharing).

Damn, I wound up rambling again.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

And the MOST irksome thing is now I have to come up with a new name for the band I made in Rock Band 2.

"Tommy and the Wiseaus" no longer seems like a name I want to use.

Also, he might sue me.
