You didn't need to delete the entire thread.  Let it play out for a few days for crying out loud.  Others may have come in to voice their opinions.

I wasn't saying that you didn't have a right to pick the next movie, I was just wishing that you had been participating more up until now.   

I certainly didn't want or expect you to back out completely.

I agree, repost whatever it was you deleted and just play along in the future.

(or take your penance and watch the previous three movies and post about them - a lot of people don't seem to get that there's no cut off date for watching the movies, just a suggested date to watch the movies so that we all watch it at roughly the same time and can have a fresh discussion together and avoid spoilers in the thread before the date also)

Here's a recap of what happened.

Courtney got nexties for the club.  She picked The Crush.  Everybody was happy.

Until I opened my big mouth.  I asked Courtney if she would watch some or all of the first three movies and comment on them.  I said that it would mean a lot to the folks who selected the movies if she would do so.

She said that work has kept her from participating as much as she would like.  I also mentioned that there had been a discussion of making participation a requirement in the future if you want to select the movie.  And that it looked pretty bad that her first post in one of these threads was the announcement of her pick.

I did not intend for her to retract her pick.  I just wanted her to know that her absence (and a few others) up until it was her turn to pick, was noticeable.. And that some people might take that the wrong way

I PM'd her to ask why she deleted the thread and she says that she now thinks it isn't fair for her to pick the movie over someone who has been watching the movies.

I have no problem with her having the next pick, and I've already got The Crush on it's way from Netflix.  But I do think that as time goes on, some sort of participation clause should be enacted.  For now, the thing is still too new to worry about that.  I just want to watch the next movie.  Which as far as I'm concerned will be The Crush.

Yes absolutely but, at the moment, she's not too keen to do that since she feels bad about not contributing in the past.
