From their website:

On the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, a modern luxury liner christened "Titanic 2," follows the path of its namesake. But when a tsunami hurls an ice berg into the new ship's path, the passengers and crew must fight to avoid a similar fate.

TITANIC 2 stars Bruce Davison, Brooke Burns, Shane Van Dyke, and Marie Westbrook and will be released on DVD on August 24, 2010.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. But on the bright side, I'm fairly sure that no schnauzers will be rapping during the film.

Bruce Davison and Brooke Burns? Those people can actually act!

Awesome.

1) I thought The Asylum changed their name?

2) You know that there is a real life cruise being sold to mark the anniversary of the Titanic voyage...?

Bob

I think if you are a passenger booking a trip on a ship called "Titanic 2", you are pretty much asking for it.

Well, their website still shows The Asylum everywhere, so if they have changed their name it isn't reflected yet. (And they're at Cannes at the moment.)

You know, there's tempting fate and then there's walking up and punching fate in the nose.

Okay, let me chime back in here.

Troma goes to Cannes too. There's two parts to Cannes- the film festival part and a meeting of international  film distributors. That's what the folks like Troma and Asylum go there for- to sell their stuff to an international market. And since Asylum's actually had two rather popular films released in the last year (Mega Piranha and Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, maybe with Megafault tossed in there too), when they sell their stuff to, say, Finnish TV, that's pretty much pure profit for them. For them, it's a trade show, not a place to gain accolades for their "Sherlock Holmes vs. Dinosaurs" films.

I would love to hear the press releases if one of their movies opened the festival, though.

You mean Brooke Burns.   :)  She wasn't bad in that Pepper Dennis show with Rebecca Romijn, though I honestly don't remember anything else she's been in.
