So, will this be the big live-streamed show they've been gearing up for?

That would be awesome, but I'd rather they do a live theatrical showing instead. It's much more comfortable than sitting in front of a computer screen.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

Yeah, I like the live theater shows better, too.

Ditto!  But we all know we'll take it any way they give it to us.  LMFAO

I'm sure if I lived in a country where they happened, I would too. :P

When the Planet of the Dinosaurs event happened, we just moved our computer into the lounge room, so no complaints comfort-wise.

If they chose the highest grossing movie of all time for the latest riff, can they choose one of the lowest grossing for next? Like any Kevin Smith movie.

Delgo, maybe? The comparisons to Avatar would be hilarious, too.

Well... Uma Thurman's "Motherhood" recently took in in like 24 pounds at the British box office.  That means that on opening weekend, 2 people saw it Saturday and one person saw it Sunday.

Zyzzyx Road
QuoteThe film opened at one theater, Highland Village Park Theater in Dallas, Texas. It ran for six days, and made $30 at the box office. A crew member who took a friend got a refund, so the final domestic box-office gross was $20.
:D :D  I love that detail at the end.

I consider Motherhood a bigger flop since Zyzzyk Road's gross was based on a technicality whereas the former didn't even see it coming.

It's like I really just don't even know what's going on anymore...  I read the most recent posts and am immediately confused.

This must be what people feel like when they talk to me.
Just know that dalem cannot separate the artist from the art.  Everything in the past (what is it now? 3?) pages should make sense.  He probably considers Leni Riefenstahl like a totally bad filmmaker.

No no no.  I can, and I do, it's just that this particular time I have chosen not to.  This movie was on my "only see it for the Rifftrax" list anyway before Mr. Cameron's statements, now I've moved it to the "never go out of my way to see it" list.  I really don't see why that bugs anyone.

I think it bugs people because, as a group of MST3k (and as a sub-set, Rifftrax) fans, we've (almost all of us) willingly seen movies far, far worse than movies like Avatar... and none of these fell onto a "never go out of my way to see it" list, because we were very willing to see them provided there were robots making fun of them.

You may or may not have been one of those MST3k fans who was willing to sit through horrid, dreadful movies every week, but there's so many here who were... and they find it difficult to understand your stance, just as much as they find it difficult to understand people who just plain don't find MST3k funny.

Yes there are plenty of people out there like that, and I just can't wrap my mind around it.  :)

Well, due to its very nature I think RT samples a wider array of movie types and styles than MST ever could.  Because of that there are RTs I'll never get for myself - the horror ones.  I'm just not that into horror.  Doesn't mean I think they should stop doing them, just that the source material is not really my bag.

In this one particular case I thave decided that the movie's creator pushed it over the line of "see it" for me.

Maybe if Bert I. Gordon stood on a chair and screamed horrible things about my mom I'd not buy any more MST episodes of his either.  Who knows?
