Can't play videos

[lokiluck]

Hi, I just downloaded my first rifftrax and I can't figure out how to make them work at all. I downloaded the player, and my computer wont read that at all, says its an unknown file, and the other files i downloaded only have a read me and an mp3, i can get the sound to work but I kinda want to actually watch my videos. its probably a really obvious solution but I can't figure it out. any help would be greatly appreciated

Unless you buy something marked "VOD" meaning video on demand, than a rifftrax is an audio file meant to play while you watch your own copy of the movie. Rifftrax can't legally sell downloads of copyrighted movies, and if they bought the rights to those movies Rifftrax would be too expensive. If you listen to the beginning of the mp3 you downloaded you will hear instructions on how to watch them, but the first thing you would need to do is get a DVD of the movie.

On the other hand, VOD products are riffs of public domain movies and shorts, and you can buy and download fully merged video files of them.
