Ok, now it's gone too far...Zemeckis to do a mocap remake of "Yellow Submarine"

I don't know why he doesn't just have Serafinowicz play ALL the Beatles. The man is more than capable, and it'd save money on actors!

I loved Beowulf, but I do think Zemeckis is too enamored of this technology. He says he likes it that he can change the camera shots at any point, and can really form the movie in the editing, rather than during the shoot. For crying out loud, this is the same director who did Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and once he decided on a take during shooting, it couldn't be changed, and the movie came out a masterpiece! This technology is just allowing him to be lazy and question his own judgment.

I guess if any story would benefit from the disorienting, surreal, uncanny valley mo-cap Zemeckis loves, it would be something like Yellow Submarine. But the real question is why remake it all?

Just what people were asking for, another Beetles movie without the Beetles.

Apart from its style, I don't think the original Yellow Submarine is anything to write home about.  I wouldn't mind seeing another interpretation.  Harmonix showed recently what could be done with The Beatles and modern computer technology, so it could look stunning.

I would prefer a movie that features the Beatles.

Anyhoo, this is a TERRIBLE idea.  Please don't let this happen.
