I need one more.

Huh, I didn't even know they could put videos that long up on YouTube (Google Video yes, but not YouTube. Or are they one and the same these days?). Whatever the case, cool.

Though I still hope you've got room on your list for Lady Terminator :P

Yes Google bought Youtube a couple years ago.  I found the four "Film Crew" episodes there too, FYI.
I knew they were on Hulu, but I just found them on Youtube.
I make good words.

Being in the UK, I can't access Hulu.   :grr:

I tried Youtube features before, but they had the same kind of region locks on them.  I wonder if it's changed or its on a per film basis.

It does, thanks.  :)

It's a shame about those Godzllla movies, especially as the DVD releases you've gotten over there look pretty awesome.

You ever consider just getting a Region 0 DVD player? Then you could start importing movies like that.

I have one.  It's the cost of the importing that hinders me getting that many Region 1 DVDs.

Huh. Considering the exchange rate for pounds to dollars, I would've guessed it to be cheaper (must be the shipping).

It is.  And sometimes the custom charges can be as expensive as the actual product.

Blackmail is Alfred Hitchcock's first talkie, made in 1929 and displays all of the director's skill and flair in fairly simple and lean story.  The plot concerns a shopworker (Hitch's first blonde, the lovely Anna Ondry) who ditches her policeman boyfriend in the middle of a date because of a argument and the "come hither" looks she's getting from another man.  Rather foolishly, she goes up to his apartment where he tries to rape her, and through self-defense, she kills him.  The next day, her boyfriend discovers what's happened and tries to cover up her part, only to find that another man knows the truth, and so enters blackmail into the movie.  While it's not as rousing as his other later works, it contains all of the ideas that would later appear in movies like North by Northwest.  It looks fantastic, with Hitch displaying a freedom with the camera that was really rare in the early sound era and it has some really well choreographed moments, like the murder that sparks the rest of the movie, or the final chase through the British museum.  I certainly wouldn't call it essential, but fans of Hitchcock will like this.

The Chipmunk Adventure is... well, it's a movie.  It stars the Chipmunks and *sigh* The Chipettes, who through utterly retarded circumstances race each other around the world in hot air balloons for $100,000.  Little do they know that they're actually jewel smugglers too, ferrying the illicit gems to all corners of the world hidden in stuffed dolls, which prompts misunderstandings and run-ins with various underworld characters and some borderline offensive "native" people who try and sacrifice them to a volcano god, but through the power of tonally skewed pop music and montage, they all narrowly escape doom and return home safely.  I really hated this movie.  I'm not a fan of the Chipmunks in the first place - aside from their voices, I think Alvin is an asshole, Theodore a glutton and Simon a bore - so enduring my third feature length movie with them involved was just about enough for the mild discomfort of the furry chappies to tip into outright loathing.  That aside, the cartoon is beautifully made, with some scenes rivaling anything Disney were doing at the time for elaboration.  Pity about everything else.

I think I've actually seen this one. I'm pretty neutral about the Chipmunks in general (it's mostly the voices, I think, that put me off), but I do admit that I always enjoy show/movie things where they send the main group on some kind of race in some strange area. I can never fathom how something like that is OK for what are basically little kids, and it never fails to amuse me.
