Bear with me, I'm new here. I'm a huge rifftrax fan and an almost as huge wikipedia addict. I was checking out the rifftrax page on wikipedia and someone wrote that Daredevil was the next rifftrax with Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy. I think its an awesome idea but I know I can't always trust Wikipedia. Can someone here please help me? I'm breaking up!!

Correct - our next RiffTrax will be "Daredevil" featuring Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy (with the synching help of DisembAudio)

Happy riffing!

Thanks, I've been scouring this forum for days trying to figure it out. Out of curiousity, what board would I find that sort of info on?
I know I'm in the minority when I say this, but I like Daredevil. But I also like Fellowship of the Ring. Ever since I first starting watching MST3K It's hard not to riff on even the best movies.
Thanks again

Yeah, it looks like nobody's actually posted a thread specifically titled 'Coming soon: Daredevil!' like the others.
But at any given time, check the latest "20 questions" thread for the latest buzz.

EDIT: Thread title changed - was once 'is wikipedia right?' or something

Sharktopus

What's that you say? Wikipedia can't always be trusted? Shenanigans! I may have to find new sources for my graduate thesis on how the Power Rangers were influenced by Voltron. ;D

Anyway, welcome fellow Daredevil non-hater. We are few but we are, well, not exactly proud...

There are more Daredevil lovers than just myself and my friend Brandon! I knew the prophecies were true!
I'm just hoping the Daredevil rifftrax comes out at a time when Circuit City finally returns my iPod to me. Although it seems unlikely, since its been an eternity since it was sent out.
Sorry for the random rant.

I didnt hate Daredevil, but it was SOOO far over the top it should be perfect for a good riffing.

One thing that DID bother me about the movie was how EVERYONE, probably even the milk man, knew that our lhero was the Daredevil.   I like my heros to keep their secret identity a little more..... well..... secret.

N_Sponenberg

The movie was definitely over the top! No arguments here. There was just something about it for me though. Also the fact that Vin Diesel was originally slated to play Matt Murdock until Kevin Smith stepped in makes me realize that it could have been far worse. No matter what you think of Ben Affleck, no one deserves to sit through Diesel playing ruining a beloved comic icon.

But, everything is riff-worthy (is that a word used here?). Even Citizen Cane or the Godfather as far as I'm concerned.

Schindler's List is the only thing off limits

Yeah, I don't think anyone here will argue that Daredevil is a great movie, but I still like it, especially the far superior Director's Cut (Featuring 100% more Coolio!) On one level, the movie pissed me off as a fan of the comics. Now moviegoers think DD's a big Affleckian joke. But on the otherhand, just a few years ago I never would've dreamed I'd get to see a freakin' live-action Daredevil movie, and one that sticks pretty close to the character's roots, to boot. For all that's wrong with the Daredevil movie, just remember, it could've been Hale's Berry's Catwoman, Dolph Lundgren's Punisher, Batman & Robin bad. And for that I'm just a little thankful.

Good lord, I HOPE you are kidding!    Vin may have put in "Catwoman" territory.

The risk involved in comic book movies is usually great. Some do come out on top. Daredevil is in my top 5. Or maybe ten. My list changes every time someone asks me what it is.

By the By: Matt Murdock's identity being revealed to almost everyone on Earth was stupid. I don't care how genuine the people are, it would get out.

Scenario: Ben Urich gets absolutely plastered and starts bragging to his friends
QuoteGuys *Hic* Seriously, Daredevil is a blind guy named Matt *hurls on his friends*

It's just like the scene after the train fight in Spiderman 2. (Like those kids would never tell anyone)

Secret Identities are secret for a reason!

The Vin Diesel thing: I don't remember where I heard it, but I didn't make it up. Thank God for Kevin Smith, though. Dodged the bullet there.

Whoa, sorry about that. I misunderstood the quote thing. Total rookie maneuver

I googled it. I found a few links, here is one:
Was offered the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Daredevil (2003) that eventually went to Ben Affleck.
It was on- http://www.celebsrate.com/name/Vin+Diesel/

Not that anyone wants to look up info on Vin Diesel...
Except me... I need a new hobby...

I am also a (mild) admirer of Daredevil.  I don't mind Affleck in the role, though perhaps someone like Guy Pearce (who I think was one of the top choices) would've brought more depth to the role.

Bob

From reading that link......

"He was cast opposite Ben Affleck in Reindeer Games (2000), but left the production shortly after filming began over concerns with the quality of Ehren Kruger's screenplay and creative differences with director John Frankenheimer."

The fact that he ran away from that turn tells me he has a brain and can sense danger.

"Revolution Studios wanted him for the title role in Hellboy (2004), but director Guillermo del Toro thought that Ron Perlman was the perfect choice for the role, and wouldn't direct the movie if he wasn't cast."

The person in charge of Revolution studios that wanted him in the title role should be forced to watch reruns of "Mamma's Family".
