First of all, take the Rifftrax Live Survey if you haven't already. Done? Great.

One of the questions on the survey was what you'd like to see at the next Rifftrax Live event. I figured what better place to have a discussion about such things than in the Rifftrax Live section. Personally I'd be happy with any of these, but I'm sure many of you are more picky than I am. What are your thoughts?

Blue Raja

Hearing Over The Top done in 3-riffer format would certainly be interesting...

If I had the choice for any movie though, it would be Star Wars Ep. III.  Doubt the distribution rights will ever be obtained for it, but still.

Really, I'm fine with the vast majority of those choices listed above.  Daredevil, Twilight, and House on Haunted Hill stood out to me the most, I think.
Featuring the taxpayer-funded efforts of Blue Raja, Hellcat, and Skyroniter!

I chose Twilight since it is not only hilarious, it would piss off the fangirls.

Over the Top would be a good one, as far as getting permissions, I think Stallone now has a good sense of humor about his movies and would not have a problem with it. He might even enjoy it and want ot be involved. You never know.

I chose Roadhouse and Other. Road House would be nice to hear the 3 of them doing it as long there is a lot of new material to go with it. Ultimately I would prefer to see a film that hasn't been riffed on the site before. Like seeing Daredevil at the first SF live show. They did the riff then recorded it later for the site.

For this poll, where I could only pick one, I went with "Star Trek V".  The rifftrax for that kills me every time, I start laughing right from the riff of "My death-valley tulip farm isn't working out at all".

But there's plenty of films that I'd be happy to see riffed live.

Brak

Have to go with Twilight, it was a very popular release and for sure would spark a lot of people's interest in wanting to know what Rifftrax has done with it. Just not sure how easy it would be to have the rights to actually show it in theaters. For sure is a lot easier when its a film that is public access like Reefer Madness and the like.

Wouldn't the live shows almost have to be an old stinker or something in the public domain? Otherwise there's rights involved for effectively charging people to see a copyrighted movie.

Compound

Off the top of my head, they've performed Daredevil and Over the Top live in the past with no legal problems. Fox of MGM or whomever will just need a performance fee or something.

If there weren't any legal restrictions, Twilight. It would probably get the most publicity and it would be funny to see the reaction's of Twilight fans who maybe just showed up on a Thursday night to the movies and saw it on the showtimes.

It really wasn't that different. There was some new material but it was mostly the solo riff spread to 3 people.

Still, I think it adds to the riff. A sense of camaraderie that helps with the notion that you are having fun with best friends watching a movie together.

They can acquire limited public exhibition rights for those films, it'll just be more pricey than stuff like Reefer Madness or NOTLD. They'll have to make sure there's enough of a demand to justify it. They have actually riffed Daredevil and Over The Top already. Only in San Francisco though.
