I'm not sure there are any reptiles that have or had a vertical bipedal posture with a tail dragging on the ground, almost like it's a guy in a monster suit....

I know it'll never happen, but under the heading of 'tell us new stories we've never heard', I'd like to see a team-up sort of a movie with Godzilla and Gamera.  I mean sure it's been done to death in comics and TV and other movie genre, but I can honestly say I never see a Kaiju film.  I mean, sure, over the years, the big G's acquired a number of allies, but usually it's been over a period of time, never in one movie, right?  It'd be a Kaiju version of JLA/Avengers, more or less, which sadly is why it's doomed from the start.  Virtually zero chance of getting the studios to work together on something like this....

*SIGH*

But you're getting to my point.

The original 'Zilla - no matter how "Guy in a Suit"he looked - still resembled a T-Rex.  So he was plausible-looking at least.  Give them a little bit of credit...so did the NYC Godzilla....and then they stole how she moved from the dragon in Dragonslayer.

This thing now of wanting to make him look like other reptiles - more everyday reptiles - could hurt the sense of disbelief that a lot of people need if these movies are going to appeal to anyone other than long time fans.  That's what I'm afraid of, anyway.

I don't think Godzilla's character hinges on his plausibility. If you think he looks goofy that's one thing, but I don't think people will be asking for their ticket money back because the 70-story tall fire-breathing monster wasn't proportioned like a real reptile.

I've got a huge Godzilla toy from Final Wars, big fan of the Big G, he looks especially awesome in the 90s and 2000 movies.

I love that look, and I like it when he looks intelligent, like we can see what he's thinking, it's fun. And also, hell yes "man in suit" rocks, of course I'm sure they can do a nice CG one here.

That concept art is pretty decent, looking forward to this.  :D

I saw a cityscape with (what looks like) Godzilla's firebreath....then a bunch of movie titles/logos...followed by a trailer for a movie or game that looks like a cross between The Matrix and Starship Troopers....

I sure hope the first and last things aren't connected.

no i do not think they are related ,thank goodness we have less than a year and a haft before this movie comes out.

The first 6 seconds were Godzilla - the rest looked like Starcraft II or something...

Just checking that everyone else saw it the same way I did.

Mass Effect 2, thank you very much, Mass Effect are some of the best sci-fi sagas in game history. You're a badass commanding a ship... in space!  :o

Godzilla is also badass.

Oh, thank goodness. I could barely make anything out in that video, but what I did made it seem like this was going to be a Godzilla game, not movie.

SO are they already filming then? It seems weird that it isn't that long before it comes out. It didn't seem all that long ago that they announce Godzilla was "retiring" for a while. I would love to see the beginning of this movie be in Palm Beach Florida, where Godzilla has been living peacefully for years and then just decides to go on a rampage, destroying it, and heads to Tokyo.

Hmmmm, lizards love heat.  Would think he'd be happier in Arizona.

Assuming that 'Zilla has all of his papers in order....in which case they'd have to deport him to Japan....

:)

Somebody call the Zucker Brothers....I think we've got a parody movie!
