Conor suggested that it was unlikely because it was long, boring and pointless.

I can only assume Conor has never seen a Rifftrax. ;P

The next ones, by most of our DVD cover counts, are 99 and 100.........  so I am hoping for Dune and maybe the third LOTR movie.

By the way, we just double-checked... this is not so. According to our database info, we have 2 more releases being written as we speak; these are numbers 97 and 98 in the "Feature-length Riffs" category.

I'd like to find out which 2 extra products you are including :)

I do believe this is the first time I have seen the phrase  ""Feature-length Riffs" category " ever used by the powers that be.   Nestor was released as a "RiffTrax". There weren't any qualifiers. It came after Firewall and since it was a mp3 that required I had to supply a DVD I numbered my covers accordingly.  I just have to say that if RiffTrax is going to consider the next four "Feature-length Riffs" as 97,98,99 & 100. Won't you please, please think of the INK!   ;D

How many Ink Spots died so you could have those covers?!

Yeah I asked Mike etc. and they do not consider Nestor a feature. Basically it's like, "Can you buy a DVD of this as the main title." I believe that is the defining criterion.

We are also including Voodoo Man, PofD, House on Haunted Hill, etc. Products that contain multiple versions such as three riffers, including Plan 9, Missile, etc., are only counted once.

And yeah we've never used that phrase before but I'm beginning to split our catalog up for easier organization/navigation.

Heh!

Does anyone know why the compulsion to organize and numerate thing like this is so strong? I always like having TV shows and things of this nature serialized.

Well it would seem silly to count Plan 9 Mike Solo, Plan 9 Three Riffer, Plan 9 Live as 3 separate products. 3 separate SKUs, maybe - variations on one product. (Like I can order a shirt Medium or Large, Red or Blue.) So it's more of a technical nitpick.

I think cover makers are clear in that regard, and they shouldn't have to change anything, since "it is what it is" with regard to being  a physical product on its own in the case of, say, Plan 9 Three Riffer Edition.

But since they are, essentially, the same *title* being riffed - Plan 9 - they should only count as one release for us. This is despite the fact that some underwent complete rewrites, as was the case with Carnival of Souls. But still, it's not the first time Carnival was riffed by us, so I would count that as 1 "title" from us with 2 variations on the product.

Not sure how exactly to define it with proper lingo but I think you get my point. :)

TP? I don't Maniac should count either, since it's shorter than the Hulk episode was

Plus, it'll cause the people griping about the numbering to have to re-number them again and possibly cause heads to explode. (Which is my real goal.)

MrTorso

For me and my covers if it is a MP3 that I have to sync to a DVD I supply I number it in order of release. Although thinking about it Voodoo Man I counted in my run and I had to get the MPG from the site. So maybe I will be dropping the numbers from my covers. Too bad you guys didn't assign public SKUs or "episode numbers" . People love numbered things. I have seen quite a few customers that buy crap they don't really want so they could have a complete set. (Criterion DVD Spine numbers etc)
