Having just watched the Comic Con panel it does seem like Mike really wanted to Shawshank Redemption, which would be a mighty fine Riff for #100

He was joking.
FINE

Even so, it'd be a good 100th Riff.

No. It wouldn't.

I just saw the Comicon panel, and I really want them to riff Super Mario Brothers!

I remember after this panel first aired, Conor posted he mentioned Shawshank Redemption before and talked it up to them. But for whatever reason it didn't happen. I think it would make for a very interesting Rifftrax, perhaps the 2nd installment of a Rifftrax Challenge?

Of course after seeing the Comic Con panel their are quite a few i would like to see:

Super Mario Brothers
Tango and Cash
Highlander 2
Showdown in Little Toyko

Tango and Cash would be awesome. I loved Kevin's favorite Stallone line.

Doctor Who?

Out of those i would like to see Super Mario Brothers the most.

I do think that Super Mario Brothers lends itself to the fan written Rifftrax, though.

Ditto.

Tritto.

What comes after tritto? Quadito? That sounds like something you'd order at Taco Hell.

They were just being polite to Conor. ;)

So the next riff is a month away.  We are now only getting a new track every 4 to 8 weeks?  Is the site shutting down or something?  Are movie companies  threatening to to sue?  Something is up here.  The guys must be moving on to something else because there is no way that the site can support it's self with only 10 to 12 riffs a year.  At least I would think it would take more then that to keep the site going.  Maybe Mike needs to find some new partners who live closer if using Kevin and Bill is slowing things down.  Maybe something really big is in the works?  I don't know all I do know is that something is up.  This is odd.

There are two Rifftrax Presents that are at least close to completion that we know of (hopefully more, whatever happened to the one James Lileks was writing? That looked great!) not to mention they have been releasing shorts and they recently released DVDs (as far the site supporting itself financially I mean, obviously they were of previously recorded shows) not to mention they are clearly gearing up for another attempt at a live-streamed riff (which means a new PD movie probably!) so I don't think you need to worry about them moving on just yet.

They're being bought out by Cinematic Titanic.

Yeah, right.  ::) I think Cinematic Titanic would be more likely to be bought out by Cinester Theater.
