I'm with RVR II, for all the begging and pleading on these forums, it should be That Movie RVR Keeps Mentioning.

I agree.  Give the man his DUNE already!
I actually really dislike DUNE, but I think it will be great for a riffing.

I think a really good idea would be a fan voting system, where everyone who's bought every Rifftrax get's to vote for the next track?

Bye.
I like your way of thinking 8)

bratpop

But people who have bought EVERY Rifftrax will buy ANYTHING. Wouldn't it make more sense for the next movie to be nominated by the most selective people? The idea is to sell to the majority, not the crazy minority.

See, the problem with giving in at this point is that it will set a precedent that if you just bombard them and never shut up about a movie they will eventually give in and do it.

Maybe not a great idea from their point of view?

Or maybe the idea is to reward the loyal fans who have supported this small venture and allowed it to grow into what it has?

I do like the idea of offering up a vote for the 100th release, with limited options of course. Maybe ten movies that might not get riffed otherwise, so not things like Watchmen of LotR3 or what ever.

I agree with this, If they do decide to do it they will not acknowledge the fans even wanted it and just do it like Red Dawn. I'm guessing Joel McHale picked that movie, but i would assume they gave him a choice.

I think they should stick with what they want to do, what they think is funny and of course what keeps them in business. This is what kept MST3K going and seems to be working for Rifftrax also. If you saw any of the Shuffleboard tournament you can see how well they seem to get along and make jokes/references to the movies they have done.

I for one would love to see more cheesy 80s moves as I think they are hilarious. However they don't sell very well :( and that is the deciding factor, not what a small majority of the fans want.

The people who navigate these boards and would vote are prob the fans who would buy any Riff they put out.

Just my opinion of course

Hmm..... Come to think of it. They did kinda do this at last year's comic con, thats how we got a Riff of Dragon Wars. Sooo I guess its not too far fetched. I'm just happy when new Riffs come out so i'm not hard to please  :D

DARRR ACTUALLY I MADE AN IRIFF OF DUNE DISCUSSION CLOSED

I wonder if they will riff something that isn't a recent release, it feels too predictable that way.

People are generally against slumdog millionare riffing, but when a movie is that superficial, it doesn't matter if it is intended to portray real people in desperate situations.

Also the original batman, blade runner, and hook are very high priorities to the forum users.

So did I, (and it will be coming out soon through another iRiffer) but Still would love to hear the guys take on this one first and foremost ;D

you know I was being sarcastic of course, alluding to in the suggest a riff forum where if you suggest a riff then a user patronizes you, asserts there was no reason to request the riff because there's already an iriff.

It's one thing to leave the x-men or lord of the rings films unfinished, but it's a real open wound when there are so many star treks yet to riff.

Finally! I thought we wouldn't see it until after Duke Nukem Forever.

I loved how the HULK Quiptracks I helped with came out, but I still want to hear The Guys (is that trademarked?) riff on it.

spiderman 4(in production)

No longer in production. Instead we're getting a Spider-Man reboot starring younger actors and set in high school.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

There has been one film and one mini series of Dune.  Not sure why you are so angry about the book existing.

Oh, no, I just cuss a lot.  Doesn't mean I'm angry.  LMFAO  Okay, I'm a little irritated at the Dune series, but not angry.

I think I'm just cynical now about all the riff love Dune is getting since after the Red Dawn riff was released a lot of people openly admitted they only asked for Red Dawn every time because it was a board "injoke" not because they actually wanted it.

I'd like to know what you think is a good Sci-Fi book.

If we're talking large scope epic type stuff like the Dune series was reaching for, I'd probably say the Ringworld series or the Riverworld series if you consider that SF instead of fantasy.

Doesn't it take a while to write, record, and do post production on a rifftrax?  Like a month or so all together?  If so, then whatever the 100th release is going to be, it's already been picked, written, and probably recorded by now.

Since the 99th release isn't due for over a month now, I think there's plenty of time to have a vote, and then write and record the hundredth.

Oh is the 99th that far away?  Disregard my last, then.  LOL

Actually, I just looked backwards in the thread, the next 20Qs game is on the 16th of April, and the release will probably be about a week after that (?) - so a little under a month.

That still leaves time though, I would think.

They could also put a finished one on the (metaphorical) shelf and release it later.

Having just watched the Comic Con panel it does seem like Mike really wanted to Shawshank Redemption, which would be a mighty fine Riff for #100
