Quote from: mrbasehart on January 21, 2009, 05:02:47 AMThe Taste of Blood, by Herschell Gordon Lewis is a classic from the 60s.  *snicker*

I'd like to see you make a better movie than Herschell Gordon Lewis.

*searches in own ass*

Ah! Here we go.

Like I said, if you can't make a better movie than A Taste of Blood, don't even bother to comment on it.

Please explain this, as it sounds really rather ridiculous.

A Taste of Blood was a competently-made, entertaining, distinctive and original low-budget movie, as opposed to all of the crap that has been posted in this thread.

Oh, so your opinion apparently counts?

Besides, that's not what I said.  Please explain why I can't comment on a movie because I haven't made "a better one".

I just mean that you haven't made a better movie than A Taste of Blood.

I comment on bad movies all the time. And I actually have made better movies than the films I shoot down.

"I'd like to see you make a better movie" is second only to "well they make more money than you do" in the Hall of Fame of really terrible arguments.

No you didn't.  It's right there:

You don't even imply it.  It clearly says that I'm somehow barred from any opinion on the movie because I haven't made a better one.

If so....I think even less of your taste and judgement now (if that's possible).

Doctor Who?, I'm changing my three suggestions for three random films made by Isaac.

You're Uwe Boll, aren't you?

I have no idea where that joke is coming from, but if it means I can see some of your movies, then YES!

Petey Wheatstraw

Just send me your bank information, and not only will you get to see my movies, you will finally inherit those riches from your distant African prince relative.

Compound

I'll post some more specific suggestions late, but you might want to check out some of the "Shovelware" packs of films where they bundle 6-8 movies together in a package. Like these:

Drive-In Cult Classics

Drive -In Cult Classics Volume 2 (This one has They Saved Hitler's Brain on it, plus The Creeping Terror and Bloodlust.)

Drive-In Cult Classics Volume 3

Drive-IN Cult Classics Voulme 4

School Dazed

After Dark Thrillers

Drenched in Blood
(4 movies only, but all recent. Tales of Terror is horrible.Devil's Moon is most notable as it seems that the producers ran out of money and didn't add a soundtrack, so some scenes where there should be sound FX or music are noticably quiet.)

Most of these range from $6 to $12 on Amazon and have 8 films in them, so they're a pretty good bargain. There are a bajillion of these types of packages out there to choose from as well.

Isaac, your defense for thinking your opinion is more valuable than others is that you've made movies better than the movies you're critical of but you're not going to show them unless you're paid for them? Okay.

If you thought that was a good movie, then ditto.
