This Holocaust film opens in the U.S. next month (I believe it already opened in Great Britain). I'd be interested to see some of your reactions when you see it, but I warn you, this is one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen.

I tend to be sensitive anyway, so I might have thought that it was just me being sensitive again, but in this case I wasn't alone. I saw it with six or seven co-workers (our company was asked to help promote the film), and at the end, none of us could speak for about five minutes. I was shaky, weepy, and depressed for hours. It was that powerful. Not bloody or violent or gross, but shocking. (If any of you have read the book it's based on, you'll have some idea of what I'm talking about.) There are some plot holes and unanswered questions, but it doesn't make any difference to the emotional impact. It really makes you identify with the Nazis' victims in a whole new way.

So if you'd like to see a new Holocaust drama, and you can take it, go ahead. Just know in advance that it's going to punch you in the gut.

Yeah, it's been out for a few weeks.  I thought it was good: beautifully acted, and presented from an original perspective.  It's pretty damned gloomy though.

Yeah. One of my friends said she saw it coming, but I sure didn't.

Okay, I know everyone else is thinking it, so I'll just be the one to go ahead and say it:

Oh geez, not another Holocaust movie...
