As someone who leans a lot further to the left than to the right I'll say this.  I really wish we could all come together and just ignore Micheal Moore and let him go away.  Mocking him (badly from the look of it) will just encourage him to make more movies.

Meh, 1 movie every 2 years or so vs. 24/7 Fox News, etc.  The right still gets a larger, crazier voice.

WHile Team America was (mostly) a very funny movie, they had a similar Michael Moore hates America crap, and it wasn't funny there, either.

I disagree.
I'm curious did you find it funny because you don't like Michael Moore or do you think he actually hates America?

Oh no, I don't think for one second that Michael Moore hates America. In fact, I think it's completely absurd to even suggest that. Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of Michael Moore, so that helped with why I liked the scene, but it's more just my sense of humor. Having a character who is obviously a political activist go so far off the deep end to prove his point is what's funny to me. And something about puppets just makes me giggle.

That's what I figured, but i still don't know you that well and sometimes I just get curious as to what people were thinking.

Scary Movie 4 and Superhero Movie had their moments.

Wasn't Superhero Movie just that one co-writer of the last two SM's and no Zuckers?

I'm going to just ignore this film.  And it will go away like Fox's "1/2 Hour News Hour"...

I think Zucker was just a producer on it.  I do remember seeing his name in the opening credits.

No question there.  Which is why I also ignore Fox News

Indeed. And that one was quite funny, too.

Yes, this looks like crap. Why is it that conservatives can't even make a funny spoof movie about such an easy target like Michael Moore? Liberals hate America? Nonsense. And not funny, to boot. WHile Team America was (mostly) a very funny movie, they had a similar Michael Moore hates America crap, and it wasn't funny there, either.

I'm sorry. Have you ever paid attention to a single thing Michael Moore has ever said or written?
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Yep.  Craig Mazin made Superhero Movie.  Just in case you wanted a name to the faceless label.  David Zucker produced the film.

I'm also probably going to avoid this movie.  The two things that make me cringe the most in spoof movies are dated pop culture references and politics, and this feels like an awkward mishmash of both.  They're a bit too late for Sicko and Captain Mike Across America, and much too late for Fahrenheit 9/11.  Perhaps they should have waited until next year to release this?  Michael Moore's working on a new documentary (apparently), and IMDb speculates that it will be released next year.  Maybe Zucker can find a few scenes to fine-tune... incessantly... until we get a release date for the documentary.  It'll take patience, sure, but at least the documentary will at least be somewhat relevant instead of... significantly less relevant.

Unless Michael Moore has really been acting up during this election season?  The most I'm aware of was the editorial he wrote for Rolling Stone magazine about what could lose the Democrats the election.  Anything I missed?  (Very likely, by the way.)

I think David Zucker could use visits from Bob Hope and Groucho Marx on how to successfully interject funny humor related to his own political views into his work.

Just add one more hard-boiled egg, and we've got the perfect response film for American Carol!

But speaking of Groucho and Zucker, has anybody seen Brain Donors, directed by both of the Zuckers in the 90's?  I've heard it was a remake of A Night At The Opera, and since this forum is the place that I respect the most when it comes to movie reviews, I want to hear what people here thought of it.

I haven't seen it in a long time, but I remember Brain Donors being hilarious. It wasn't made by the Zuckers, though. The director was Dennis Dugan, and the writer was Pat Proft.

I LOVE Brain Donors!! Very funny movie, in the vein of the old Marx brothers movies. In fact, there are three main characters and they can easily pass for a specific Marx brother. That was obviously the idea. John Turturro plays the main character, a fast talker who is the Groucho one. Bob Nelson plays the silent man, very silly and goofy like Harpo. And Mel Smith(the albino in The Princess Bride) plays Rocco, the Chico character.

Well worth a watching. Look it up!!
