I don't know, they've managed to sully Alien's reputation now with enough sub-par sequels in recent years that a remake might actually be a refreshing change of pace for that franchise.
As long it's done right. Hopefully, if they do remake it, they don't get some hack like Michael Bay to make it.

A Michael Bay Alien....*shudders*

Chaos

Instead of having acidic blood, they would violently explode when shot.

And it would take place on a CGI military base in the modern day. In space.
And there would be product placements for NASA and Burger King. In space.

Doctor Who?

Where is a mad bomber when you need one.

Someone needs to stop Hollywood.

Oooh!  Oooh!  I'm a mad bomber!  See my avatar?
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

That's a good trailer.  It establishes a mood and creates intrigue.  And it's got a great end hook.

The movie might be different but that's an effective trailer.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Tripe

I still think they could follow Farewell to the Master on this one.

....and you're one "what bombs at midnight", so you could show up on premiere night just in time.

Even worse, you'd have a shot that starts at ground level and spirals around the alien in an upward motion while the damned thing is exploding in slow motion.
