The Main Page: Too Cluttered?

Maybe it's just me but I think that the main page of Rifftrax.com is just too crowded with Rifftrax ads.  It almost makes me dizzy just looking at all of the ones that are crammed onto the page.

I know that there's a new version of the site coming.  Is this one of the issues that will be "fixed" with the new site?  Just wondering.

I agree. But I do think the primary problem is that the newest stuff is not always on top. I like the idea of having the links random, so as to incurage sales of the older stuff. But I think the first three on the list should be the latest things released. Looking forward to the redesign. Anything that improves trafic increases their business is good, as it will ensure more Rifftrax in the future.

For it is in the Future that we will spend the rest of our lives.

Hehe.  I can wait.  Although, I'm sure we wouldn't mind seeing a mock-up of the new design.

I was thinking the same thing but it seems whenever I post, it is always a bitch about something.   But yes, to busy.....and I think it would be hard for noobs to navigate.  I am sure the powers that be will come up with something great for the new design.

I didn't see all that much wrong with the site as it is, but yeah this looks great to me.

New site looks good. The current site doesn't really bother me. With the ad block I have for for firefox the only thing I see on the front page are the banners and the poll and the necessary links (login, my files etc).

There are some new features that are going along with it, obviously the iRiffs being one of them. If you look at the homepage you'll notice the "Featured" block - this is the goal of iRiffs, to be featured here. We'll also have an iRiffs landing page, however, where the top rated riffs will get pushed to the top, and whatnot. But the way the new site is designed, we'll hopefully be taking full advantage of these new features and allowing a whole lot of info to be provided right at the start, and making all aspects of the site that much more accessible.
