I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal of Ebert

MightyJack

I love his essays and admire anyone with kind of passion for film and film history.

He's mostly seemed like an occasionally well spoken troll to me

He's human, has flaws. But I respect his film knowledge and I'll listen and weigh his words, just as I will anyone in any field who might expand my horizons.

Relaxing Dragon

Yeah, I generally really liked reading what he had to say, even if I disagreed with the particular point. I think a lot of his recent reputation stemmed from the whole video game thing, which even he recanted later on (otherwise I really don't see how the Troll label can be applied, he was always pretty up-front about why he felt one way or another).

Fair enough, but the advantage of marking films watched is it will give you percentages and sorting abilities for lists and for bodies of work of directors/ actors.

Upon thinking it over, I actually did end up going back and marking everything I've seen (I think my big concern was there would be spillover onto the diary or something, but that's no issue at all). A rather arduous task, too, since I was too lazy to figure out the imdb import option. All this clicking and there's still >350 movies to find and mark. But, such is obsessive life.

Also trying to get more into the Lists. They're a neat idea, but I need to think of decent reasons to have one. Reasons beyond discovering Ed's hatred of Hellboy II, I mean.

According to Letterboxd's twitter the app should launch tomorrow. (iOS first, Andorid later)

The Android one will be a big help to me. Can't wait.

Bumping this to ask... Anyone here whose a Pro see your new stats pages?  There are more categories and they've added and an "all time" page... I love 'em.

Oh, and by Christ did I watch a lot of movies in 2016 (I was on a several streaming sites this year + Netflix DVD, and I always try and get my $ worth)

Edward J Grug III

I love the new stats, though I hadn't spotted the all time page.

Looking forward to seeing my final stats for the year in a couple of days.
