FINE

Iron Curtain

I think I saw the exact same invention Jonah was using in the movie Coneheads used by Jane Curtin's character...

Iron Curtain

I love the Legend of Zelda riff in this episode

Haven't made it to this experiment yet, but (without giving away the title) does anyone know what year the film was made? There were about a dozen movies made with the same title, so I'm just wondering which of those this is

It was released in 1978.  The only other movie that was made around that time that had the word Avalanche in the title was Avalanche Express.

However, the avalanche footage they created for the film was also used by American International in the film METEOR.  The "Avalanche" footage used was better looking than the original avalanche footage created for METEOR, it has been said.

Well, that skit with Gypsy singing was kind of freaking me out, but the song was good...

The first skit with a song was also good, although I thought it went on a bit too long.

The send the movie guy finally got some lines so that you could tell who it is (pretty sure everyone here already knows who it is but I won't spoil it even though this is a spoiler thread).

I like the new theme, but the musical numbers are still shocking to me in how professional sounding they are compared to the amateurish charm of the songs in the original run. Repeated viewings may bring me around to enjoying them more.

Keep in mind how little money they spent for that professionalism. I guess Moore's Law gets to account for it.

The Legend-of-Zelda-referencing riff alone is enough for me to warrant a repeat view after I get done with the entire season

So many riffs and references to catch!  I will be rewatching all for a long a time!

I've genuinely enjoyed each episode so far, but this one freaking slays.

I have been asked for Rifftrax to riff a disaster movie for a decade now. Glad to see that Joanh & Co. did one. However, the riffing wasn't quite up to previous episodes, and I suspect it's because the constant 'avalanche" references prior to well, the avalanche, hit the "funny" then "tiresome" then "Well, okay back around into funny" then "Yeah, this horse is thoroughly dead now. Move on" point. That aside, decent enough riff.

Movie: He is "up to his ass in celebrities!"

RIFF: Let's just leave this one alone...

Yeah, but why was it so squeaky and high pitched? It was weird.

I'm enjoying these for the most part, but at this point, it does not feel like MST3k is back. This, if I'm honest, feels like a fan project by a bunch of fans from Hollywood. Crow isn't back. Servo is DEFINITELY not back. There are really funny bits now and then, but this doesn't feel like Mystery Science Theater.
