I have a pretty good rig . GTX 580, i7 950 processor, 12 GB memory But my seagate 1 TB hard drive lets me down.

Can I get some feedback on what Hard Drives are good for loading times, Bootup. But also just practically good for gaming . Price range not a problem but Not over say $600 thank you

I don't game much anymore but my rig has a Samsung Solid State Drive (SSD) 850 EVO and it worked flawlessly so that would be my first choice 8)

This smells fishy to me.  And why is it on the general board now?  Seems like a clever advertising bot to me.  First asks a question, then later posts the advertisement in the form of an answer.  Even more suspicious considering they've only posted twice.

But what really throws up red flags: why are they suggesting an HDD for gaming?  Come on dude.  No one is going to recommend an HDD for gaming.  SSDs are the way to go.

EDIT:  And they're external to boot.  I mean, come on.  You tried so hard to mask your advertisement, and did a great job, but you pitched it the wrong way.  You should have been asking for a storage solution for a bunch of movies you have (something that this forum deals with a lot).

Yeah, asking about a drive for gaming and then promoting an external drive is a red flag.

Also, 6 year old video card, 7 year old CPU, I don't think the hard drive is the thing letting them down in their gaming.  ;D
