Game of Thrones: Season 1 Episode 1
TV episode · 2016

A simpler time of direwolves, imps, and gratuitous nudity—before everyone started killing each other.

With Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett

Long before winter was coming, winter was... well, still coming. We're taking it all the way back to the first episode of Game of Thrones! To a simpler time before [spoiler alert] killed [spoiler alert] and [spoiler alert] betrayed [spoiler alert] and [spoiler alert] severed [spoiler alert's] [spoiler alert.] A time of direwolves, imps, and gratuitous nudity that would be screen-capped throughout the realm.

The challenge begins: If we riff every episode before George RR finishes the next book, he has to buy us all our own Unsullied! Join Mike, Kevin, and Bill for the premiere episode of Game of Thrones!

NOTE: Contains excessive violence, nudity, and boiled leather.

ALSO NOTE: Backers of the MST3K Reunion Kickstarter of $75 or more will get this one free. Go to http://www.rifftrax.com/kickstarter2016 to claim!

Nice to see another mp3.  This is a great riff and I'll be watching my re-author of this again.  I've followed this series from the beginning but never have wanted to see an episode twice.  If the guys riff every episode they've got my money.  Just sayin".
And I'm worse than Hitler.

Do they actually intend to do more of these? That would be fine by me.

I have not rewatched any seasons of Game of Thrones, kind of bizzare how much older everyone looks after just 6 years.  Not just the kids either.

Wanted to chime in and say this riff synched splendidly with the HBO-GO stream.

I am a fan of the mp3s for larger budget film etc.  But I have never bought the riffs of shows like lost etc. purely because I knew it was a one shot thing with no further episodes to be riffed.  I guess I'm a bit of a completionist or something.

However when I saw this riff come out, I immediately purchased it even though I had no intention of watching it for some time.  The reason is to hopefully help drive up the sales numbers a bit, to again hopefully encourage the team to continue releasing them for at least say a season.

While I buy pretty much everything, (well except most shorts) that you guys put out, I would love to see more mp3s thrown into the mix.  The last few years they have started to feel a bit lacking in amount of content.

We've had weekly releases, sometimes multiple releases weekly, consistently since we started. The content is there even if it's not in MP3 form.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

I'm heading south of the border Sunday so I'll check this out in July sometime 8)

Not sue you read thoroughly or maybe I wasn't clear.  I'm aware of the content, love and purchase most of it.  But the, I guess ratio, of mp3 for higher budget movies to lower budget streams in the last few years has really tilted to the streaming low budget films.

I love all of it, but would like a few more big budget riffs.

Actually if I could wave a magic wand, ignore everything I just said in favor of more mst3k releases lol.  If you released the mst3k stuff in one big block, I would probably buy 30 - 50 of them within a month.

Guess Im one of the people you can't please all of the time lol.

I think Sajiky was referring to the idea that we've got the first two episodes of Grey's Anatomy, the first two episodes of Lost, one episode of Hulk...  I'll admit I dearly love the idea of working my way through Grey's Anatomy escorted by Mike & Bridget.  Even now if they could find the time to go back and at least do the whole first season that would be pretty awesome...

Also, Sajiky wanted me to tell you that the website home page is skipping.

Wait what,  I did?  Not even sure what that means, lol. :o

Finaly got around to this one.  Loved it, excelent work as usual!  Dunno why I enjoy the riffs of movies/shows that I actuauly like so much, but this  LotR, some of the marvel stuf etc. are some of my favorite riffs.

We liked it a lot!

I was a bit disappointed that there was no riff when Tim "Max Keller" Van Patten's directing credit came up, though.
