Who's bright idea was it to schedule the Time Chasers live show on May 5?

The same night as Civil War starts showing?

Got the email about tickets going on sale and hadn't noticed they were the same day.

They may be on sale for YOU, but not me.  Keep getting "no showtimes listed".  :(

Yeah, it didn't make much sense to me when I saw the date and then saw when Civil War was coming out and that the pre-screenings were starting Thursday night.   The theater tonight was *packed* hard to find a decent parking spot.  Lobby was crowded with lots of people standing around in Marvel/MCU-related shirts and such, taking pictures by the cardboard display thing, even a couple people in cosplay.  Seems like a very, very, odd day to choose to release this.   The RT theater still had a good-sized crowd in it, but can't help but think it would have been larger if one of the (if not the biggest) movie of the Summer Movie Season wasn't showing later this same night and premiering this weekend.  (Not everyone is going to be like me and willing to buy tickets to two movies over the same weekend.)

Fandango showed that Rifftrax was going to be at one of my local theaters. The one I usually go to for this and when I got there it wasn't showing. With the closest theater that was showing being 18 miles (and 30 minutes) away. So I will be seeing the encore instead.
In fact there were two other guys at the Regal Lebanon (Pennsylvania) who were both there to see it as well. I heard them talking about it.
For the record I stuck around and saw Civil War since I was already there.
Fodder's just this guy, you know.

Usually Thursday nights are pretty quiet at the Theater I see Rifftrax at, but tonight the parking lot was just about full and I had to park in front of a store a few spots away from the movie theater.

It didn't bother me as I haven't seen any of the Marvel universe movies, but this had to be the smallest crowd I've ever seen at the first run showing of a Live Rifftrax, and I've been to every one of them.

I think there might have been 20 people in the theater last night.

I'll second that. My showing was shamefully underattended and since the theater I go to is the only one remotely nearby to carry the Live shows, it's not like people were just going to different theaters. I'm assuming based on the lobby crowds when I left that Civil War bled off a lot of folks. Although why you you wouldn't go to the one-time showing vs. the 9,000-showings-all-weekend is a bit of a mystery. Is posting on Facebook that you were one of the first to see Civil War really that important?
It is easier to destroy than to create.
More fun, too.

It's probably a mentality of wanting to see it as soon as possible so you can a)discuss it and b)not have to worry about spoilers.  If you only "budget" one movie a week it's either go see probably the biggest movie of the "Summer" Movie Season or go see this Rifftrax event that'll be reaired in a couple of weeks and be on homevideo at some point soon.   Sure, you can go see see Civil War anytime in the next few weeks but if you don't see it this weekend you'll be behind the curve on discussing it and risk running into spoilers.

So, I see the appeal to it and when  learned CW was coming out this weekend with the RT event it struck me as someone, somewhere, made a poor scheduling choice. (I suspect most likely it's due to a limitation on when Fathom Events has open times to host the event.)  But, yeah, this weekend was a poor, poor choice. The re-airing will likely be "bigger."   But I doubt it was anyone's conscious decision to do it this way, it's just how the dates fell.

Anyway, I'm seeing both this weekend and going to the reairing in couple of weeks for RT.

My theater had at least 8 showings of Civil War after Time Chasers ended, so if I had wanted to see the film after RiffTrax, I had plenty of showings to choose from.

I am going to see the rebroadcast of Time Chasers due to the fact that I had missed 2 or 3 minutes of the Chimp the Fireman short due to theater based technical problems (The auditorium's computer system cut the live feed off and started to show that screen's regular movie and I was the only one to rush into the lobby and tell a manager about it so it could be quickly taken care of), and I don't want to wait for the free VOD of the show (Kickstarter backer) to watch it again.

I regrettably had to make the same choice a lot of dorks did: I saw Civil War on May 5th, and Time Chasers last night.  The rebroadcast was... not well attended.  Maybe ten to fifteen people there.
I draw comics!

Yeah, the reruns are always a bit more sparse, but they keep doing them, so they must get just enough attendance. I had a conflict and had to catch the rebroadcast yesterday. Loved it.

Saw it last night too, just because money. Loved the show, so glad Mike made a comment about the missing space after the comma, it always bothered me.
