The Ryan brother reunited in Buffalo? I'm gonna remain mum on this  :-\
QuoteRex Ryan: It would be fun to add my brother to the Bills' staff

November 17, 2015, 1:07 PM EST
NBC Sports

Bills head coach Rex Ryan isn't planning any changes to his coaching staff. But he sounded amused when asked about the possibility of hiring his twin brother, Rob Ryan.

Rob, who was fired as defensive coordinator of the Saints on Monday, could end up in Buffalo coaching for Rex, who said today that he would "never say never" to hiring Rob.

"Not going to lie, it would be fun," Rex Ryan said.

The Ryan brothers have worked together before: Their dad, Buddy Ryan, hired both of them to coach on his staff for the 1994-95 Cardinals. Twenty years later, Rex would consider a reunion.

Unfortunately for Rob, he may need his brother to hire him if he wants an NFL job at all. After Rob coordinated one of the worst defenses in NFL history this year with the Saints, it's possible that his twin brother is the only NFL head coach who'd be willing to hire him.

Unless it's as a guy in the player relations department, no thanks. His defensive work has been lousy.

Also, Manning's arm falling off just means the Bills have an easier path to winning their wild-card game.

49ers place Colin Kaepernick on IR (shoulder)

The San Francisco 49ers placed quarterback Colin Kaepernick on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

In his place, the team promoted practice squad quarterback Dylan Thompson to the active roster.

Kaepernick has had struggles at times this season. He has thrown for 1,615 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions on the season. The move to IR is a bit of a surprise given that Kaepernick was a full participant in this week's practices. This move may spell the end for the fifth-year pro in San Francsico.

The Nevada product was recently pegged as a possible cap casualty for the 49ers in the upcoming offseason. The 49ers have the ability to get out of his contract without being on the hook for a large sum of money. Kaepernick is currently signed through 2020.

"Kaepernick has done very little to cement his long-term grasp on the quarterback position as the 49ers head toward a much needed rebuild in 2016," wrote Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac. "Luckily, his contract was built to handle such situations, with rolling salary guarantees that don't kick in until April 1st of each offseason. With just $7,397,259 in dead cap (unallocated signing bonus), the Niners are in line to more than $9.3M from their 2016 cap should they find a trade partner, or outright release the 28 year old."

QuoteGoodell says expansion of regular season is "on the table"

NBC Sports
November 22, 2015, 4:06 PM EST

NFL Players Association president Eric Winston recently said he'd "never say never" to a potentially expanded regular season. On Sunday, Commissioner Roger Goodell said something a lot stronger than that.

Via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Goodell told a fan forum in Minnesota on Sunday that expanding the regular season (and shrinking the preseason) are "on the table."

The league hasn't been saying much in recent years about expanding the schedule, ever since the proposal to add two regular-season games was shouted down amid concerns over player health and safety.

Still, as the NFL continues to send more and more games to other countries, the league eventually will need to increase the total inventory of contests, since some teams never will agree to play fewer than eight home games.

I didn't need to listen to the radio in the car to tell how badly the Eagles played, I could have guess by the way people were driving leaving the stadium, the number of people jumping into on-ramps to pass on the right was an all time high.

Yeah, just south of the stadium is the airport, so lots of on and off ramps, traffic was crawling along and people were using them to pass, I made the mistake of letting more than a car length in front of me once and the guy behind me raced around on the right to jump in front of me.  Craziest I've seen it after any game in the 15 years I've been driving by the stadium area on Sundays.   This was an hour and a half after the game ended, it must have been even more nuts earlier.
