i also think 10 commandments is a great idea, but passion i think would just be bad taste, you could make the jokes youve said but i just dont think the tone is good for rifftrax.

ScottotD

How would that be in bad taste if 10 Commandments would be okay?

If you want to discuss films go make a thread for them, don't deliberately derail this thread.

trilation, welcome to the forums, thanks for searching around and using the existing threads, that's great to see!

Unfortunately Mike has already looked at Showgirls and pretty much ruled it out, he said it was just too ugly.

Oh and Mary Jo is already lined up, she's the next extra special guest riffer.

I was just asking a question related to someone's list.

Am I alone in being distracted by finding movies that would make good riffs every time I go to the video shop now?  it's becoming an issue.

I originally thought you'd suggested Eraserhead... which could actually work really well.

I think Alien is a great flick... not that I think it should be disqualified from a riff just for that... but... It's all tension and build up for the first half or whatever. There just isn't much meat to riff on for quite awhile. They are going to have to do a LOT of reaching early on to fill the air... and I never think they are at their best when the movie doesn't provide direct fuel for the riffs.

Pak-Man

The fair lady Tyrant is BIG into Alien and a riff on it would be her dream come true. :^)

Killing me won't bring back your Goddamned honey!

Minnesota

My favorite film (the matrix) has already been riffed... we should all be so lucky in my opinion  8)

Keep up the great work Mike and Kevin!!

Ortega

10. Flag of Our Fathers- French horn solos dont make a film poigiant
9.  Crouching tiger Hidden dragon-  its been asking for it
8. Star wars 3- to complete the rifftrax trilogy
7. Chronicles of Narnia
6. Days of thunder-tom cruise, NASCAR, Robert duvall at his most gristleist......rifftrax gold!
5. 2001 a space oddesy- i have, will, and always hate that movie and it really does need to be shot down a peg, or two, or three, or....
4.Tommy- a little obscure, but damn would that be fun
3. Day after Tommorrow- Independance day like destruction+Randy Quaid=awesomely bad
2. Starship troopers-  the clip in the 2nd annual movie blockbuster special left me wanting more
1. Arrmaggedon-the michael bay crap-terpiece........

deering

10) SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS--The working definition of boring Oscar-bait movies.  :P
9) KRULL--I've been itching to see this miserable flick get it for a long time...: >:D
8) THE BLACK HOLE--Christopher Nolan has said this is one of his favorite flicks.  Why, Chris--_why_!?!?
7)  BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA--Keanu Reeves'  anachronistic performance is reason enough to smackback this one...
6)  LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMAN--Or as a friend called it, THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY CONFERENCE ROOMS...
5)  THE HULK--No, Edward Norton doesn't need to remake this.  (Why, Edward--_why_?!?!)
4) ALEXANDER--"Babylon would prove a mistress easier to enter than to leave..."  ::)
3) VAN HELSING--I would rather have played this than suffered through watching it.
2)  300--This was supposed to be a spoof, right? Right?
1) THE DA VINCI CODE--Poor Tom Hanks seems to spend this movie wondering when Hugh Jackman will show up and get him off the hook...

deering

5.5--THE BLACK DAHLIA.  On shaky ground from the start, but "Dinner at the LInscotts" irrevocably sends it off into comedy heaven.
75.--PRINCE OF DARKNESS.  And I thought MANOS was the grubbiest, most itch-inducingly slow flick I'd ever seen...

deering

8.5--THE HAUNTING (1999) version. There was no reason for this remake. And there's even less reason to watch it.
6.5--THE AVENGERS. Gave up the unwelcome news that, yes, Sean Connery _could_ deliver a bad performance.
9.5--WILD WILD WEST.  Kids at the theater where I saw this bought tix to WWW, then snuck into SOUTH PARK. Ace going, guys...:)
