Obi Wan says the Jedi have been the guardians for over a thousand generations, yet Palpatine says in episode 2 the republic has lasted a thousand years.

Obi Wan was referring to generations of the little known Buttletelerians, which live only three years and reproduce when they turn one.

Palpatine was referring to the years of that same planet, which last approximately 45 Earth years each.

Its just strange that he Obi Wan would say a thousand generations and Palpatine would say years. Though pretty much everything he tells Luke is a lie, so maybe that's just another one.  Also, I never said I hated Star Wars because of this.  I dont hate it at all, mostly after the prequels I find it uninteresting. I kind of hate jedi though.
