There are a few reason for this.  One of them is that they aren't very popular.  Mike and friends are trying to Riff movies that you have at least a chance of owning.  I'm not sure any one owns an Uwe Boll film.
So bearing in mind we've already had the exception to this (Crossroads)...in fact, I'd lay a crisp £20 note on more Rifftrax fans owning a copy of "House of the Dead" than own some crap like "xXx" or "Cocktail". The whole "that movie is too obscure" argument just doesn't hold water.

QuoteBy riffing big movies like Top Gun and The Matrix, a message is sent, and it says "We are not blind.  Your movie may be flashy but it's no where near perfect.  In fact, it's rather silly".
Hands up who thought Top Gun was anything like a good film? Anyone? I just struggle to see the point of riffing biggish-budget mainstream Hollywood fare every time. Uwe Boll is the perfect candidate because his films take themselves seriously- he genuinely doesn't seem to know how terrible a director he is. I love laughing at bad films, as do the majority of people here. So why can't we have some proper dumb, bad films riffed?

Actually i know TONS of people who think top gun is a great movie.  (i am not one of them)

I think the reality is that eventually uwe boll will be riffed.  But he seems to be going after some things that he wanted before he gets around to that end.  Further he doesnt really seem to like doing rated R movies.  He has done a few dont get me wrong but on the whole i dont think he cares for them.  Further Uwe boll is our Generations mess, he seems to be dealing with his generations mess first ;)

Some (myself included) would argue that Top Gun IS a properly dumb, bad film.  The fact that it had a big budget doesn't redeem it one bit - it only serves to make it even cheesier.

That being said, Uwe Boll is a talentless dickweed.  (Ah...I love debating films in a cultured, sophisticated manner). ;)

Uwe Boll is definitely going to Hell.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Well, the man DOES have a vision and goes for it....... um, I guess?

Honestly, that looks beyone horrible.  Maybe he is acting out in real life the plot from "The Producers" and is trying to make bad films?    Yeah, that has to be it.   Man, I feel better now.

I'm new here, so I don't know if his movies have already been covered at length, but if not, they totally deserve to be riffed.

His videogame to movie adaptions are absolutely retched, non-canonical, and just plain awful. In other words, perfect Riff-fodder.

Just look up info and reviews of House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, or Bloodrayne. And soon coming: Postal.

Bob

Yeah, lots of folks have been asking for his movies to be riffed.   I just dont know if we want to subject Mike to that kind of pain.

Nunyerbiz

Nobody is going to deny their awfulness... but I prefer the subject movies to at least be bearable. I was never a big fan of the "Red Zone Cuba" type of nearly unwatchable MST subjects... and I dunno if I'll want to deal with Uwe's modern day Coleman Francis routine.

I disagree with the Coleman Francis comparison... at least for House of the Dead, which is the only one I saw.  I dragged some friends with the sole purpose of mocking it on this old website I had and we found the theater empty except for some other poor dope.  So we were able to actually riff without bugging anyone and we found it hilarious!  In my opinion if you're going to compare it to MST3k fare (and it easily can) I suggest something like Attack of the Eye Creatures or Hobgoblins:  Friggin' hard to watch unless you riff like you're life depended on it.

'Sides,  Mike did do Troll 2.

After seeing films like BloodRayne and Alone in the Dark (both of which have sequels coming out, again directed/produced by Boll), any and all of the Boll films needs to be riffed!  He is like the anti-Speilberg (or the anti-Christ!) of filmmaking.

Your opinions?

Uwe Boll films are too painful for me, even in the form of a Rifftrack. The scars still havn't healed from when I watched the last 10 minutes of House of the Dead on the SciFi Channel last weekend. Riffing a Uwe Boll film would be like putting a smiley face on an h-bomb.

and yes he deserves to get his films riffed...although I'd be worried for Mike's safety afterwards...

I know, I just had to express how distraught I felt after seeing BloodRayne, especially...the ending alone left me shocked and in disbelief..

I should put this in a seperate thread, but what about some of Gus Van Sant's films?  Gerry, Elephant and Last Days deserve riffing...

Sorry for the thread necro... but...

I watched the majority of "House of the Dead" on Sci-Fi channel yesterday... and *gasp*... I found myself really, really enjoying it. I thought it was a fun ride for an admittedly crap movie. Couple of good looking females, completely random cuts to zombies walking past a tree, Clint Howard, laughable b-movie dialogue, completely random cuts to Sega Saturn video rips and of course Clint Howard.... From an awesomely bad b-movie perspective, I found little to complain about. I had a lot more fun just kicking back and laughing at the movie then I would have had looking to rip it to shreds. I think it would make for some solid riff fodder.
