- how I read any complaint about MST3k (or Star Wars or Ghostbusters)

When did I say this round would end? I need more time. I had to order one of my movies from the Library (yea, I'm cheap, what of it).

Relaxing Dragon

I'll get a best actor list in shortly as well, been a bit delayed this week.

anais.butterfly

Sorry I have not been attentive this week.

Best Actor nominations are due Sunday night. I will send an pm to some of our academy members tonight to advise.

If you need more time, let me know, but I would prefer to move on to Best Actress

They were both nominated for the actual Oscar in 1999, are we going for calander year then?

Terrance Stamp - The Limey
Toby MacGuire - The Cider House Rules

Pretty much has to be calendar year unless we are gonna start researching eligibility of films - much harder to do after the fact.

I assumed Oscars-to-Oscars which is how they view the year

Except it's not. Movies are given early runs for one week at that one theatre that a movie has to show at to qualify to be nominated.

And some movies have earlier release years than the ones that count towards the Oscars due to festival runs.

So I can nominate Gods and Monsters and American History X?

Both are 1998 releases. We are judging 1999 releases.

Yes, calendar year. The real Oscars are stupid because they would judge a film from 1999, but, because the actual ceremony occurs in 2000, they are called the 2000 oscar winners.

So, Birdman came out in 2014, but history will show it as the best picture winner for 2015.
