Miku Fan

Hello all,
Been a fan since 1989. First discovered MST late one night. I was asleep with the TV on. I woke up, and saw a guy and two "aliens" talking to a movie. At first I was confused, then I snickered, then I was hooked.  Joined the fan club. Membership number was 5,000 and something.

The Big Question: Joel or Mike? I like them both. But, when Joel left, MST lost TWO important things. They lost Joel, of course. But, equally important, to me, they lost Mike as the alien in the hexfield view screen.  Mike was tremendously funny as the guest alien. He made me lose it lots of time. Whether it was as Glen Manning (I have a thing for Bea Arthur) or as Mr. Cleaver as a Horseman of the Apocalypse (I'm going to destroy you, your world, and everything you know: I'm REALLY going to give you the business!) he was classic!

Rifftrax or Cinematic Titanic?  Rifftrax, definitely. I liked CT. But, there was something missing. I think it was anger at bad movies. I think Rifftrax still has "fire" and CT didn't.  I guess that's the difference. Not sure, but CT just wasn't as funny as Rifftrax.

Favorite MST episode? Tough one...that changes from time to time. I guess a generic answer would be Mitchell or Manos. Or the Fugitive Alien series.

Favorite Rifftrax? Another tough one. House on Haunted Hill and Birdemic. Favorite shorts? Mr. B Natural and the Batman series. Gabe!

Favorite MST/Rifftrax moments?  I got to see a early viewing of Mitchell, before it aired on TV.  It was at a theater, at MSU.  It was the largest crowd ever at their campus auditorium. Was also the loudest audience ever, as it was literally constant, roaring laughter. So much fun.

As for Rifftrax, that's coming up. I've seen Rifftrax Live, simulcasted. But this year, I'll be in the audience in Nashville, watching Godzilla! And will get to attend a meet and greet with "The Guys."  Looking forward to that! Loving kickstarter rewards!

SciFi MST: I loved those!  Pearl was funnier on SciFi, in my opinion. The Observers were hilarious.  Bobo and Dr. Peanut were also great! My favorite was probably The Screaming Skull. Great riffs: Hey, lady, I'd like to talk to you about a certain ME tossing.  Also, the host segment where Crow pretends to be a screaming skull made me cry laughing!

Secret MST confession:  I think Professor Bobo is as funny as Tom Servo.

Trivia: I think I know why Pearl sometimes referred to Crow as "Art."

Favorite MST related comment about  ME: "Is there anything on television besides MST and the Simpsons that DOESN'T suck?" That was my sister, blistering me one day for not liking something she was watching. Update: The Simpsons now also suck. : )

About myself: I'm from and in, Tennessee. Retired military. I like anime (no, I don't watch tentacle hentai, lol!).  I speak a little Japanese.  My favorite is Miku Hatsune.  She's a virtual singer. She is great! She sings in Japanese and English. Her voice is on over 100,000 unique songs, which makes her the most recorded singer ever. She recently was the opening act for something called Lady Gaga. I don't know what that is, but I thank it, for having Miku as its opening act.

Anyway, that's about it.  Nice to meet you all. Stop spreading the tapes. ;)

Well, welcome aboard Miku Fan.  It is always fun to have a new face around here, and we have a few anime fans here (I used to be one but I don't watch nearly as much as I used to.  Still watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Hajime no Ippo though).   In fact, the TV board has a thread called "Good Anime". so feel free to recommend some there.

Also, right now I'm hosting a thing called "List of Crap" were we poll the forum and find out what there favourite things are.  This time, the topic is Sci-Fi TV shows.  I'd love another contribution.

Hi everyone,
I apologize- I didn't realize anyone replied to my post!

@JohnnyUnusual: I've seen some of your lists, but am confused. Do you want each person to list 50 bad sci-fi's, or submit one to you, and you list the 50?

@Lembach and Sideswipe: Nice to meet you.  When I lurk-n-read, I read posts from both of you.  You both have some interesting thoughts.  Ever resolve whether your kitty is  aware? I think she is, but that's for another thread!

Nice good to meet you too Miku.  I am not sure what you are referring to about the kitty though?  Also, my Mad Libs thread in the Board games for the Bored needs more contributors!

I think it's a reference to a very old post of mine. I had just read Blindsight by Peter Watts.
I was all freaked out over the nature of consciousness and sentience.  ;)
