MST3K Sub-Genres: Teen Morality Plays

Anyone noticed the pattern of these?

Almost exclusively set in the fifties, with "teenagers" ranging from twenties to mid-thirties, these films present a flawed protagonist, some moral or ethical failing, and blame nearly all the troubles of the protagonist and society on this singular failing, often with sketchy logic and little or no supporting evidence.

Examples:

I Accuse My Parents. Alleged Failing: Drunk Folks.

The Sinister Urge. Alleged Failing: Pornography.

High School Big Shot. Alleged Failing: Anti-intellectualism.

Yeah, usually something like: If you have sex, you're dead!

That's true, but they tend to be less narrow and single-minded in their focus. In a slasher movie, being promiscuous, drunk, obnoxious, or a security guard is a moral failing that gets you killed.

Teen-age Strangler.  Alleged Failing:  Teen-age strangling.  And stealing no bike, neither.

I tend to like the "teen issue" movies that MST3K has done.  They seemed to be marginally less terrible than most of the other movies tackled.
