Didn't you say the HD version of the original Battlestar Galactica series was out in Europe but not in the U.S. ??? I haven't been able to find it anywhere  :-\

It seems to only be available in Germany, region B/2.  Can't tell from this page if there is an english language track on it or if it's only German:

Holy Shvitz!! I might need Bob's German expertise with this one  :speechless:

The pi page implies that one of the models can use a USB wireless dongle, so if I have that on one and a huge HDD on the other, and can put it on the network...that'd be sweet.

So, you'll need a USB hub, probably a powered one, so add about $20.
And a keyboard and mouse if you don't have any spares lying around.

You'll need at least 3 ports if you want to use WiFi:
USB Wireless keyboard dongle
USB WiFi dongle
USB Hard drive

Don't know if the Pi changed much in the last few years but the one I used was like using a very slow cellphone. It's a cool little device with all kind of interesting applications for builders, modders etc. but for general daily use the ram limitation would get old real quick.

As far as the HTPC build you posted, I think it's solid. So many people buy discrete GPUs for the HTPCs and they really are over kill. If it was my build I would use that same processor but find the absolute smallest ITX or miniATX case possible and a motherboard that supports RAID, at least 2 HDDs, 1 SSD, and a decent sound card.

Still, at that price plus shipping, I'll wait a while longer to see if it comes available in the U.S. :-X

Where's your CPU?

It's all in the cloud. Get with the times gramps.

You know filling your tower with artificial fog doesn't mean you are now "cloud computing" right?

I learned that the hard way.

Streaming to your TV via something or just hooked up in your living room?

I'm actually setting it up in my bedroom. My TV has PC in so i'll be hooking it up to the PC.
